  1. Titans. last four games had a total margin of 10 points combined…but three losses. They still haven't held an opponent to 20 points or less though. Disappointing crowd of 12000 last night. They don't leave SE Queensland until middle of June with two more home games and two at Lang Park over the next month.
  2. She cost the Titans the game at Canberra two weeks ago.
  3. They have special trains on for match days that go direct to the stadium so less than that for games. But it is still a pain to get too.
  4. I wish I had a fiver for every time walsh turns over possession. You can survive that against the poorer teams but you dont give up possession against the best teams. 0-4 against teams in top 5 5-0 against the rest
  5. Not helped by 9 of every 10 seats in the stadium being empty. Shocking that only 8000 turned out to see the three peat champions face the iconic rabbitohs. Stadium is on the Western (penrith) side of the city so convenient for panther fans.
  6. The challenge cup is not about finding out who are the best teams in the league…that is what we have league games for.
  7. Yes 11 different finalists in those 7 years. only two of the finalists in those years were from outside the top 6 in super league. Its like having two separate play offs for the top teams in super league….one were games are based on final position, the other were games are based on an open draw. Nostalgia aint what it used to be
  8. Well they did bother going when it was a true cup competition …all 76,290 including her majesty the queen in 1967.
  9. I believe the play off final is to be played on the ground of the championship team, not at a neutral ground, but (a) I may be wrong and (b) RFL still have time to change its mind.
  10. I think if you had a team that was exciting to watch competitive and had a chance to win something Gloucester All Golds, Oxford, Hemel, Mansfield, Nottingham, Blackpool, etc etc would have got bigger attendances. A successful club cannot be built on the expectation of winning all the time. As we say in Rochdale, you lose some, you draw some
  11. Shame to see ex Hornet get fired at Souths. From his time at Hornets through to his job coaching Souths he always came over publicly as a thoroughly decent bloke. Following Wayne Bennet is always a poisoned chalice and he has looked completely drained over the last month or so. He had souths playing great up to the mid point of last season and topping the NRL then things went horribly wrong (Latrell Mitchell and Sam Burgess might be able to explain). I hope its not the end of his career as an NRL coach.
  12. Didnt they win something last season…..play offs and promotion. Was there much bigger attendance?
  13. They went from having a competition where 30 teams entered together on a fairly level playing field (all part time) together with two outside amateur teams living their dreams to the current grossly unlevel playing field of part time and amateur clubs playing off to qualify for four spots in a competition of highly paid full time finely tuned professionals. And you wonder what happened to the magic of the cup? Why would folks from up north not involved with one of the participating clubs incur the expense of travelling to wembley to see two teams play each other for the third or fourth time in a season when they could nip along to see the same two teams play each other a few stops along the M62. In the 32 team competition each team didnt play each other in the league each season so often the final might be a roses battle between two teams who otherwise didnt meet. My first final was 1967…15th place Barrow v 19th place Featherstone. Barrow beat Whitehaven (27th) Liverpool City (28th) Hull (9th) and Dewsbury (19th) to reach the final. Featherstone beat Bradford (5th) Wakefield (3rd) Castleford (8th) and Leeds (1st). That was the magic of the cup. If you want an example of neglect look no further than the challenge cup.
