And she's only just died? Remarkable, just goes to show sharks aren't quite as dangerous as some people think. -
RL in London, a personal reflection
Old Frightful replied to EssexRL's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
The London Broncos should have been kicked out of SL on Saturday night. Or Sunday morning at the very latest. -
Derek Beaumont is spouting off because Hull FC have raided his club for some players. After John Asiata signed for Hull next year he immediately recalled Ed Chamberlain from his loan spell over here after ranting about how well he looked after Asiata. If it wasn’t Hull FC he wouldn’t be bothered about it. Richie Myler seems to be upsetting a few people after only a short time here, not sure I’m over keen on how he operates. But then, having seen him as a player, I can’t say I’m surprised. If relegation comes to Hull FC at the end of the season then so be it. Up to now it’s all we deserve.

RoyBoy and my pal Coops went, I'll be phoning them later for their reaction. First off, many congrats to London. We could really use a SL team in the smoke, as the remarkable decision to highlight the result on the national news (was it?) indicates. I'm assuming it was Simon Grix whose decision it was to have Morgan Smith on the bench for so much of the game instead of an inexperienced young kid and a very rusty Jake Trueman. That started the downfall before the kick off. And London demonstrated how easy it is to beat Hull FC. All you need to do is spread the ball wide at every opportunity. Whenever this happens it looks like we are playing with three or four players short. And the ill discipline is still there, hitting a player late invariably leads to a ten minute sit down and while Jordan Lane was in the bin, London scored twice. I await with interest as to the result of the "on report" incident. Rumours spreading like wildfire about what was said, ridiculous really, very few will know. And lastly, my heart went out to young Jack Charles. Apparently he was interviewed recently and said he is sick with nerves before each game and reports suggested he was in tears at the end of yesterday's match with some fans booing the team, as is their perogative. I just hope it makes him a tougher cookie and he realises it won't have been directed at him personally, he's a great talent and needs to stick at it. As a so called professional club, we're in a heap of trouble at the moment and I can't see a way out anytime soon.
