  1. Yeah, you’re right. Records show he played at FB once in Feb, once in April 2023. Against your opponents tonight actually. 10 times in 2022. He’s played FB for the majority of his career though.
  2. Back end of last year, for Leigh, and also about 10 times in 2022. Must have been games you didn’t go to Like I said, he can play, but imo he needs some kind of freedom to his game. Unfortunately against the coaches wishes most of the time! Considering the ‘culture’ has been mentioned since Smith and now Grix have been in charge of coaching, this goes against changing it imo. They say it, but don’t really understand how to change it. I think that also applies to many people. For what it’s worth, I don’t think Grix is the future either.
  3. Probably because he’s principally a FB.
  4. Yes. Often they are turned down for distance from the try line but in this case he made it anyway. Edit: just watching the Eels v Broncos game and the Ells winger gets clouted around the head during a gang tackle in the corner (8th minute). He loses the ball in the process of trying to put it down and it goes dead. No penalty but a penalty in front of the sticks for an earlier infringement for offside.
  5. Similar with Sculthorpe coming through the academy. No matter what plan we had to reduce his impact, he always shone.
  6. I think he still has some good stuff in him, it’s just he reverts to taking easier choices more and more nowadays. Human frailty, unfortunately. Let’s hope there are caveats in his Contract in event of indiscretions, on & off the pitch. There should be a number, ideally about a dozen +, but I have my doubts.
  7. If Burgess goes lower, he stops the try. I think any coach worth their salt would be focussing on that and not the Refs/VR decision.
  8. He would have been. Can’t believe our ‘halves’ don’t latch on to the fact that he is a powerful lad with good hands. Pass, support him and if he gets his hands free you’re away.
  9. Oh yes, I agree but it makes for a pathetic spectacle. Basically challenge anything and with luck you’ll get a result. Chuffed the Dolphins won actually.
  10. I don’t think anyone knows what his best position is. I don’t think he has the grit and determination for prop, speed for the back three, skill and athletism for the backs. I can only see him as an impact player coming on close to the oppositions line.
  11. I watched that game. Really is difficult for both players and officials.
  12. Yeah, at one stage he was a very good player. Not now. I just hope we don’t lose any of this good kids coming through as a result. I only know of his indescretions, not his mentoring skills but based on his history who would take him seriously?
