  1. Never thought I would say this to Hunslet but it's a big "Thank You" from me.
  2. The Hutchins Stand was my 'Second Home'. If you were standing 'upstairs' that night then I was also standing up there with both of you. What a team we had. What a game that was against their superstar players. Watersheddings and especially the Hutchins Stand is still my 'Spiritual Home'.
  3. Agreed. We have to amass as many points as possible, at every opportunity. No room for sentiment. We have to do exactly what Keighley did to Newcastle when they played them a few weeks ago.
  4. HT: We have a comfortable lead at the break. Oldham 26-4 Cornwall Having watched the Cornish lads a few times, during the last three seasons, although they still give 100% effort they tend to run out of 'steam' in the second half. It's in the second half that their opponents i.e. Oldham, tend to pile on the points. And points 'difference', come the end of the season, may be very important for us.
  5. Subscribed. So, please add another one to that total.
  6. And, it's a big 'Thumbs up' from me. Well done, Dave. Keep up the good work !
  7. FT: A massive win in South Leeds. Hunslet 0-62 Oldham As a matter of interest, does anyone know if this was our biggest ever margin of victory against Hunslet either at home or away ? ?
  8. I too saw him play in that illustrious team otherwise known, the world over, as 'Ganley's Lads'. And what a Team that was. Never to be repeated in Oldham's colours and never to be forgotten. Sad news indeed.
  9. I don't think he had a 'full set' of trophies. Then again, I could be wrong.
  10. Not the best of draws from our point of view and it's going to be a good indication of how much we've improved since last season. BUT if we beat them we play Sheffield or Batley at Boundary Park.
  11. Not to mention the fact that the Hull K.R. thug, Harry Poole, smashed the bones in Dave Parker's face. Sadly for him, and us, Dave was never the same player after that. I know. I was there. All three games (played at Leeds, Swinton & Huddersfield) 60 years ago. And I still bear the mental scars.
  12. Speaking as a 'Roughyed' for the last seventy years then the words "This optimism worries me. Never ends well" should be our club motto.
  13. Wow ! Spot on ! Could you please give us our winning score for the game against the Hairnets ? That should really ruin Anita's day !

That makes two of us. During that 60 years we'd literally sunk as low as it was possible to get. We've now got a mountain to climb and it may not be easy, but this time we've got the will-power and all the necessary resources to climb back up to where we belong. Our true measure of success will be getting up there and STAYING there. For the first time in very many years I feel confident that we can achieve that success. Me ? Forever a 'Roughyed'.
  15. And you can now add yet another one to the ever-growing list of Season Ticket holders. Super quick and simple to order on-line. Here's to a great season ahead !
