Listening to this latest statement, it doesn't seem that there is any intention of returning to Boundary Park, not even to the Oldham Borough at all. So, I just wonder what has happened with regard to the resolution of the difficulties, which were pending a legal decision. Interesting times!

I have been a proud supporter of Oldham RLFC since I was a child and am now in my 70's. For many years I have followed the team and when we had one, the reserve team, to venues everywhere. As well as being a season ticket holder, I have also been an enthusiastic volunteer, helping in all sorts of ways to assist the club both in its survival and to move forward, in some very tough times. I am also a proud Oldhamer and though not particularly a football fan, have always been keen to see the Latics do well, similarly any other sporting achievement by an Oldham club or individual. I was also very pleased to see the launch of SportsTown - what an exciting prospect for the town and one which can only benefit a better future for young people of Oldham. This morning I decided to watch the video of the launch of SportsTown, which took place in March 2025, so that I could reprise its purpose and vision. Yes, Rugby League is part of the plan and both the main pitch and 'Little Wembley' have provision for the game to be played there, whether it be the professional club or a community source. BQ was present at the launch. Surely he was aware of the plan as a whole, that the funding was allocated to get the plans into place, non of it being for a specific sport/club. However, non of us are party to the agreement that was reached to enable Oldham RLFC to play there, neither are we party to the specific detail as to why that agreement has broken down. Time will tell. What I can say is, I'm very disturbed by this breakdown and am anxious to see it resolved. As I have said before, without any positive outcome for the future of Oldham RLFC, within the borough of Oldham, it can only result in the loss of our identity as a proud Oldham club.

Yes, we have played at many venues, BUT the plan was always to get back home playing in Oldham. It should be acknowledged, that a lot of hard work and commitment, by club officials, volunteers and supportive fans worked to that end. Playing IN Oldham is an absolute must, otherwise the whole identity of Oldham RLFC will be lost.

The point is, yes we know the opponents BUT not when the game will be played. The games are scheduled to be played 24th/25th and that's all we know. As the game is our first home one since the end of last season we need to respect the opposition with the publicity it deserves.

No announcement from our club regarding the date of the Challenge Cup game against Orrell St James ARLFC, but our opponents are already advertising it as Sunday 25th January, 3pm at Boundary Park. That's next week - come on Oldham, let's have some news and an attempt at creating some interest.

Very disappointed in this decision, particularly at such short notice. That's two of us, both season ticket holders, who will be unable to attend the game now, as when the fixtures come out, we plan our holidays around the home games and as a result of the change we shall not now be back from holiday in time, for the game on Friday. We have had season tickets for decades and supported the club in more ways than you can imagine, but we shall not be renewing after the season ends and will then pay, per match. Though we appreciate the reasons for the 'trial' of Friday night games, fans need to be considered as such, rather than just 'bums on seats'. We shall not be asking for a refund for the game, but can understand those who wish to do so. However, goodwill does work, both ways.

A move to Friday at this stage of the club's development, would seem rather a premature one. First of all, we need to increase the fan base. This is already gradually increasing, but we still have many regular fans who have supported the club for many years and are in the 'older age' bracket. A move to Friday evening, especially for the early games of the season, could risk losing a number of those due to bad weather and dark nights. Those, combined with the number of those fans lost, due to having young children or having travel difficulties, could be a bit of a disaster. Perhaps I am being rather pessimistic, but I doubt that the number of new fans attracted by a Friday night game would compensate for the loss. Also, whilst in Championship, where the playing staff are generally part-time in their playing rolls, we have to consider their situation too and that applies to both our own players and those of the opposition. Sunday is my choice, but I can understand that the issue would have to be reconsidered when an opportunity for Super League comes along.

It was great to see the club presence last night in Oldham. It's hugely important to create and expand on the awareness, throughout the town. A special mention to the work that Roary did. Firstly entertaining the children (his Pride) in Spindles, with his usual actions and then a full-on, energetic and creative performance on the main stage. What a star! Very well done, Roary .

Yes Dave, you certainly did!

Merely an observation, but I note that it's a new website that has appeared 'out of the blue' in the last 24 hours, so perhaps there's some hiccup due to the change.

Disappointed to see the news of the departure of Emmerson Whittel, a player who had certainly proved his worth with his service to our club, both prior to and following his spell in Australia. He was a strong player with a first class work rate and an aggressive edge, that made him both a valuable and valued player. With his experience and age, no doubt it won't be long before he joins another club, possibly one in Championship. Now, that would be ironic. Good luck to him.

Sorry to hear that Dave. Seems like change for the sake of change, then! The website that you have been running and constantly updating, has been really well presented, in a clear and concise format and you deserve much credit for the whole package. I and I'm sure many others, appreciate all your hard work, commitment and enthusiasm over the last few seasons, but it seems there are others who think they know better, so we'll see what happens there then.

It's a sad state of affairs, when having a different opinion or observation becomes an 'agenda'. A forum is for the very purpose of general discussion, whether that be based on thoughts or facts. At the end of the day, we are all supporters with the same interest at heart. Airing a different opinion or making an important comment, does not make anyone less positive about their hopes for the future success of the club. That should be appreciated, rather than condemned.

It may surprise you RR, that this is the first Awards Night that I have been unable to attend in over 20 years. I expected that there would be some release of winners on social media, either on the night or the morning, just as other clubs (Hornets, for one) have done, so I merely asked the question out of keen interest. My personal investment into our club this season, exceeds that of admission alone, so have a vested interest as to who received the awards. Your cynical response, based on ill considered assumptions, is totally inappropriate. However, no offence taken.

Agree. Speaking of which, I posted on another thread to ask about the Awards Night winners, but no response. So, does anyone know who they were, or is it a secret amongst those who were there, on the night?
