As I walked into work in the inspection department at Rolls Royce Aero Engines I suddenly realised that I had odd shoes on.... Easy done? Well one was brown and the other was black. Not only that but one was a slip on, the other was laced. A shop full of Aero Engine inspectors and no one noticed. One of the longest days of my life. But I got away with it. -

I had a gourmet feast for my tea tonight. Cheese and onion crusty batch ( you can call it whatever you like I call it delicious). -
Two guys were looking in a shop window. One of them said "Thats the one I'd get" Just then Polyphemus turned round the corner and belted him.

Ray was a gentleman. I am really sorry to hear about his demise. I am proud to say that I had a lot of conservations with him and always valued the kind words he Passed on to me. RIP Ray

Giving up /reducing booze ....

I have found that I have had IBS and after a lot of trials it seems alcohol has been a trigger. I have been looking for an alternative to alcohol and I'm experimenting. At home I have found I can make a very pleasant " dry" drink.i haven't got a sweet tooth so this works for me 3 green tea bags, about 3 or 4 table spoons of lemon of lime juice (a whole sliced lime works too) a few sprigs of mint and a litre of cold water. Infuse over night in the fridge and enjoy the next day. Of course this won't work when out at a pub etc and so I have been trying the non alcohol beers. I'm not really a lager drinker so the only one I have tried so far is one with a ship on its label ( I was so unimpressed that I can't even remember it's name) The Guiness one is excellent BUT like others I seem to get a headache next morning after only 1 can! Looking back upon thus thread there are a few for me to try when I find them Erdinger Leffe Bavaria Brew Dog Howgaarden Peroni Corona Shipyard Pale Ale ( that wasn't the one I tried) And Nowt Mary by Ilkley So I've got plenty to choose from -

Well a wins a win.Rochdale from 16-0 found away to frighten the life of the Canes.at HT and 10- 0 up and knowing they had a strong wind at their backs it looked to be going so well. That was reinforced for the ' Canes with the first try of the second half. Unfortunately no-one told the Hornets they were beaten. They very nearly brought the Midlands to another home defeat. They clawed the game back to 16-16 and when The home side coverted another try it should have been done and dusted BUT Rochdale made it 22-20 and their failed conversion proved to be their nemesis. It's a tough, competitive league this season -
What a great result. It was everything I love about the Raiders, Heart, Passion, Skill and sheer hard work WHat an asset we have in Cresta. How he keeps on lifting this team and us boggles my mind. I watched on Lounge TV. That was one of the best fivers I have ever spent. ( on a downbeat note some of the camera work was poor. The last Bradford try was out of shot..but who wants to watch tries against us?).the Cresta knockers are very quiet.

Sometimes you just have to say the better team won. To say the Hurricanes probably had their worst performance of the season ( arguably their 2nd) is not being fair to Cru. It's no coincidence that those two performances were against the same team. Which in its self is shows that Crusaders were the best team. Hopefully when (if) we meet in the playoffs BOTH teams will know that that game will be the most important of them all. Cru will know that they will be favourites and the Canes will know that IF they do turn up they can beat what is THE best team in the division ( so far)

He was wearing a jockstrap but at sometime in the 70/80's they went out of fashion Any one know when they were replaced by budgie smugglers?
