This rule, whichever team it is applied to, makes so little sense as I said in the Huddersfield game last week. Get the ball kicked at you - not played at. Get the ball passed at you - six again / knock on against the defender. Play at the ball but then get it kicked at you - apparently not played at.

We lost so much of this from a promising position in the early 2000s. I remember the Crewe Wolves and the Chester Wolves - both sadly lost like so many of those Summer Conference clubs.

Tbf the penny dropped about 25 years ago when Squadbuilder was set up. We have brought through some excellent players like Currie, Philbin, King*, Riley, O'Brien, Ben Harrison, etc, but it takes a long time to get to a point where you are bringing through whole batches of quality - that depends on the health of the local community clubs as well as the club infrastructure. It's very exciting to see now though. *Yes King is from Huddersfield and learnt his trade in his 12 months there.
