French RL clubs vote against summer RL
rlno1 replied to The Daddy's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Does English SL get more media attention since moving to summer? No so why would the opposite happen in France. -
Didn't they go to the First Test at Wembley in London last year. Haven't they been to Vegas a few times over the last couple of seasons.
-
the new tv deal is being negotiated now so the word is vlandy's will be the man

NRL Talent to Boost France’s World Cup Squad

Scotland has a long history of Scottish players so the perception of the national team isn't diminished whereas RL has zero history and the teams look fake. -

Yes but Scotland can field a Scottish born side that is competitive, play domestically, are passionate, have support etc. In RL Aussies play for Scotland then are never seen again. -
I'm pretty confident it will happen, they tick all the right boxes......players, commercial support, stadium, time zone for TV etc
-
Not another rugby union "war chest" coming up.
-
Very common in the city also.
-
Insular.....wouldn't even give up their grounds to help the Woman's soccer WC when it was played in Australia, they had to use the Storm's ground.
-
Youre in doctrinated in it from a young age every other sport is looked down upon

Interesting there is a game in Christchurch when I thought the tournament was in PNG and Australia.
-
A lot of Aussies living up in PNG at the time to help develop the country. Even the senior teams at the time had a lot of Australians in them.
-
And England would have won the Championship that year except coach Alex Murphy insulted the Welsh in the media which fired them up and they duly beat the English in Brisbane 12-7 which ultimately cost them the tournament.
