Aidan Sezer retains Hull FC captaincy

AIDAN SEZER has retained the Hull FC captaincy for a second year.

The Australian halfback was named skipper after arriving from Wests Tigers ahead of last season and was influential as Hull finished seventh in Super League, their best position in five years.

“It’s a massive honour to be named captain once again,” said Sezer, 34.

“This is a prestigious club so to be awarded the captaincy is something that I am really relishing and I’m looking forward to leading this new group.

“To have the captaincy means it’s up to you to lead with your actions, something I’m really big on. Helping those younger, inexperienced boys to come through and be the best version of themselves is also a big part.

“This is a tight group. There’s no cliques, and I love coming in every day. It’s refreshing to be amongst a squad like this at this stage of my career.

“Hand on my heart, this is one of the best groups I’ve been a part of.”

John Asiata has also retained the role of vice-captain, despite being limited to 17 games last season due to injury.
