  1. Unfortunately that’s what occurred on the Cas Forum website after his failed drug test and ban was announced in the week leading up to 2017 GF.
  2. Thanks Damien. That is good news. I still remember when SL games were shown on Aussie terrestrial TV many years ago but that only seemed to last a few month. Hopefully this will last a lot longer.
  3. It always amuses me that one of the best lines, IMHO, from Andre Previn seems to be missed by the audience. When Eric is explaining to Andre that he cannot see Andre’s cue for when to start playing the Piano, Eric asks ‘Can’t you wear high heels’. The audience start laughing and you can just about hear Andre reply ‘Again!’.
  4. Thank God ….. or should that be Thank IMG ….. for that. Just series linked all the games. Cannot find the Leeds v Salford game on 507 as the programme shows the Womens Surfing Tour. But beggars cannot be choosers.
  5. Whohoo!! To all Aussie based members. Just been on Foxtel sports and it is now showing that four games will be shown live this weekend Only games not shown are Cas v Wigan and Leigh v Hudds. So I will watch the Cas game via the VPN. Hope this continues.
  6. Has anyone heard any announcement as indicated by John Davison for international broadcast deals?
  7. Lazing about this afternoon I watched again - for the umpteenth time - what I consider to be the greatest comedy sketch I have seen. Just two words ‘Andrew Preview’.
  8. Ahhh, you watched it as well
  9. Don’t know if this has been put on here before ….. Irene Triplett was the last person to be collecting a monthly American Civil War pension when she died in 2020! Her father, Mose Triplett served with the Confederates before defecting to the Union Army. He was 83 years of age when Irene was born in 1930
  10. Hey Bob, your number 9 choice, Topless Darts for Females ……. What channel is that on?
  11. Sounds good. I will look around the bottle shops to see if they stock any.
  12. The last of the Walmington-on-sea home guard. Thanks to all of them.
  13. Does anyone know by what sorcery someone living in Australia can watch SL games this year that are shown on SKY? P.S. I can watch the BBC games via a VPN.
  14. I understand the issue of licensing. But does anyone know what has changed this year from the last 10 years or so?
  15. Aaaaaarrrrrgggghh! If true. EDIT - just looked up Foxtel RL channel and there are no SL games scheduled that first week.
  16. Thanks Harry. Just watched it whilst the wife watched Borderforce USA. Firstly, Derek makes quite a lot of fair comments about the criteria process some if which I agreed with. Secondly, it was interesting to hear him speak openly about the ‘creative accounting’ - for want of a better phrase - that should, if he is correct, bump Leigh to a score of 15.05. A massive achievement for the club. A couple of weeks ago I listened to a podcast featuring Martin Jepson (new Cas Director) who like Beaumont is putting money into the club, plus Ian Fulton (the owner) and Mark Grattan (Managing Director). They were confident the Cas could achieve 15 points, prior to the hoped for partial stadium rebuild. So IMHO if either club misses out on SL next year they feel confident that they have a ‘back door’ opportunity of regaining a place in SL by achieving a score of 15. Time will tell.
  17. Harry, here is a genuine question. Only using Leigh as an example based on your comment above. According to Love Rugby League the average attendance for Leigh in 2023 was 7,254 which falls within the IMG criteria range of 3,000 to 7,499 average attendance. Therefore if Leigh are ranked 13th after the official gradings and ‘relegated’ to the Championship next year but achieve over 3,000 average attendance they would retain the same score for that category that they achieved in 2023. Therefore, do you believe it’s possible for Leigh to improve across other areas to achieve the 15 point mark - and achieve automatic elevation into SL - whilst competing in the Championship? Hope the above makes sense.
  18. Well done England. Never expected Hartley to take a 7 for after his first half dozen overs in India’s first innings. Cracking afternoon and evening of cricket with England and the West Indies winning close games.
  19. My top 10 chart hits by Slade. 1. Mama Weer All Crazee Now 2. Radio Wall of Sound 3. Everyday 4. ###### on feel the Noize. Slade mispelt the word ‘Come’ 5. My oh My 6. Merry Xmas Everybody 7. Far, Far Away 8. Skweeze Me, Pleeze Me 9. How Does it Feel 10. The Bangin’ Man
  20. Take a big bow, Sharma Joseph. Damaged toe, 7-68 followed by a lap of the Gabba at the end. Can’t wait to speak to speak to the Aussies tomorrow
  21. What a big wuss Klopp is. How can he be tired when all he has to do is turn up 20 minutes before kick off, count how many players have bothered to turn up and then pick a team to play, then go to the pub afterwards!
  22. Hmmmm. What you have not realised, or was completely unaware of, is that the three Scottish players, Bremner, Gray and Lorimer all signed for Leeds as schoolboys. Even today, EPL and EFL clubs have scouts all across the UK so those young lads would have been picked up. Whether they would have had the chance to break into the top 6 teams at EPL level ahead of seasoned overseas players is a good debate. Of that Leeds side only Giles, Clarke and Jones were not signed as schoolboys. Your first sentence is $&&$#&*(;;*&##*). Eddie Gray would absolutely destroy a defender who nowadays has no idea how to tackle. Reaney and Cooper were really the first generation of overlapping fullbacks - which is now the main attribute of modern day players - AND they knew how to defend as well. Saying that Bremner and Giles would struggle in todays midfield
  23. Top 10 Leeds United players that I have seen. 11. Eddie Gray 10. Johnny Giles 9. Mick Jones 8. Allan Clarke 7. Peter Lorimer 6. Norman Hunter 5. Jack Charlton 4. Billy Bremner 3. Terry Cooper 2. Paul Reaney What a team. Don’t need a goalie as I would use the school yard rule of the player nearest the goal becomes the keeper. Plus I have omitted the most versatile player that I have ever seen, Paul Madeley.
  24. Why on earth would you want to play the game in New York ….. bonkers idea!
