France vs Wales 19th June Albi
burnleywelsh replied to Tommygilf's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
I made a complaint to the B(iased)BC about the omission……just because…. Here’s the response…… Thank you for contacting us regarding the scores and fixtures feature on our sports website, specifically for the Rugby League. We note you were unhappy with the lack of fixtures for France v Wales on June 19th, feeling that it showed a bias against Welsh Rugby. The fixtures for the match were shown on our fixtures page, found here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/scores-fixtures/2022-06-19 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/match/EVP3908625 We can assure you that there is no bias against any country when reporting on sport. Welsh Rugby is regularly reported on it's own dedicated page, found here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/welsh We do value your feedback about this. All complaints are sent to senior management and we’ve included your points in our overnight report. These reports are among the most widely read sources of feedback in the company and ensures that your concerns have been seen by the right people quickly. This helps inform their decisions about current and future content. I’ve replied, thanking them for the confirmation of their bias… I also pointed out that the information in the links about the game were after the event….. -

Just had a sneaky look at the BBC RU page......while (according to the BBC) Wales RL were thrashed 34 v 10. Apparently England only 'lost' a pre tour match to the Barbarians. The score.52 v 21. You couldn't make it up -

Not happening according to the BBC Rugby League page. Only NRL fixtures happening on Sunday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/scores-fixtures/2022-06-19 -
Scan in the morning for Herbie. If a ruptured bicep, immediate op. Don't know what the recovery period would be.

Can’t wait for this one. This time next week we’ll be on our way via Carcassonne and Toulouse. Handy looking French squad. Not particularly bothered about the scoreline, just hoping Wales put in a good performance. Just happy that I can go and watch an international fixture. -
Herbie on the scoresheet again, showing great strength close to the line and a try assist also with a superb offload.

He’d be showing much more of his talents if he got earlier ball. He’s got so much more to show. He’d kill it at full back, his favoured position.

*Farnworth.
-
Just hope the Broncos aren't flogging him. He's had his knee strapped heavily for a few weeks now. He's not 100% fit, but still playing well.
-
48 first team appearances in the toughest Rugby League competition in the world. At what point does does Farnworth get past ‘very little experience’ ?
-
Was travelling away with the Broncos at the time of the meeting. Issues with internet at the host hotel. Wane dropping him, just being the bully that he is. Throwing his weight around just because he can. Excellent man manager…….not.

*Farnworth….

Link…

I don't think that he is just 'holding down a place'. Voted best back at Broncos last season. Good enough to have 5 NRL clubs chasing his signature as he is off contract at the end of the year. Queensland were after him at age group level as a youngster before they found out he was English.

Another loss to the dark side…. https://rosslynpark.co.uk/rosslyn-park-appoints-former-great-britain-rugby-league-international-danny-ward-to-its-coaching-team/?fbclid=IwAR1sidqs5OHOHeHex2Sqj8KYyHHIxzh062jFYefgSiiFuWK3yffqrshn_SM Posted here before it gets moved to cross code….

Actually obtaining Australian citizenship is not that easy for professional athletes. As Quade Cooper found out. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-57804651.amp
-
He's not emigrated, or adopted Australia as his country. He's a professional athlete playing in the best comp in the world. His parents are English living near Burnley. He's not an Australian citizen. He won't be playing for anyone other than England.
-
He doesn't qualify for Australia and never will. He was approached as a kid to play for Queensland age grade. He didn't qualify then and he doesn't now. State of Origin eligibility rules state that a player must either be born in NSW or Queensland or reside there before their 13th birthday to represent their respective state.
-
You're inferring that he's not a proper English man?? He's Burnley born and bred.
