  1. Yes, that's a strange situation, two clubs making the same claim!
  2. If there is a video made of the latest meeting, can someone again share it on here or provide a link? Thank you. The 'Sheddings diaspora would be appreciative!
  3. If Fred pops his clogs, would the firm still support RL, or is it the passion of the one man? Wasn't he in the frame for buying Salford and the AJ Bell at one point or was that wishful thinking?
  4. I was nine years old when I watched that, and can still remember it to this day. Poor lad indeed.
  5. Oldham loaded? Really? Who are the benefactors or investors?
  6. David Watkins was the biggest star in the star-studded team that Brian Snape put together in that golden age of dominance in the 1970s. The Willows was a glamorous place, the football greats from United and City turned up under the floodlights on Friday nights, it was the place to be seen for the Manchester glitterati. Salford were the attraction on the pitch and it was Watkins who provided the magic. He was as big, or bigger, than many of the show business stars who would top the bill later in the night at the variety club behind the posts, and that's saying something. He was one of the first kickers to use the "round the corner" style of goal kicking, the straight line toe poke was in fashion before he came along. Other teams would kick goal-line drop outs or 25 yard drop kick restarts as far as possible, but Watkins had such skill and control he would go short every time and Salford were experts at regaining possession. I remember a quotation in the press a few decades ago, Watkins used to get battered in the tackle and the opponents used to say " twinkle twinkle little star, we don't give a ###### who you are" as they piled on. I remember watching him at Oldham in a Tuesday night game at Watersheddings, he kicked goal after goal from way out on the touchline, the ball soaring over the sticks at an unimaginable height. He was imperious, a rugby genius, a wizard. The best goal kicker I have ever seen. RIP to a once-in-a-lifetime talent.
  7. All I can see is a black rectangular box with an exclamation mark and the text that "This video is private".
  8. How could the video referee see a separation of ball and hand?? No evidence of any separation from the camera angles.
  9. A link would be helpful?
  10. I thought he might have lost a few teeth when the camera zoomed in on him as he got to his feet, but it was a just a scarlet gum shield he was removing. Phew. The commentator was saying he didn't want to come off, but he definitely did. He was done for.
  11. That look like a perfectly good conversion!
  12. Hurrell throwing an arm in the air doesn't convince anybody! Ridiculous behaviour.
  13. The home crowd jeering the referee at the hooter. (Perhaps because he pinged them twice for offside, when it's traditionally only the once per game.) Bizarre!
  14. Now they can get away with encroaching for the rest of the game, as they have been given the token reprimand.
  15. How was that not a 6-again as Dodd clung on like a leech on the 5th?
  16. Three controversial penalties on the trot for the home side....hmm.....
  17. Yes, Rest In Peace David.
  18. A great game to watch! Two highly-skilled teams on show, and that was NCL Division Three, amazingly.
  19. Oldham St Annes back in the hunt. 18-12 down but having all the momentum in the second half, a match levelling try ruled out for a forward pass. A very good game to watch!
  20. The Birmingham and ex Worcester bloke, Stuart Hood, lists The Euro X111s as part of his employment history on LinkedIn, surprised he isn't part of this latest adventure. At least he does actually have a team he could put out unlike the others.....
  21. The Alicante Cruzados have suddenly got 10 followers on the FB page, 6 hours after they were "launched". And a blurry photo of the man supposedly behind it! "Introducing Rodrigo Molina as the new General Manager of Alicante Cruzados Mol Founder of one of the premier RL teams in Madrid, Griffons RL , Level 1 Coach primeros, Expert in high level international events .He has provided advice to various Rugby Clubs in the areas of Training , Marketing and Communication . Welcome, Rodrigo!" So, there you go!
  22. Any links, or details, or an overview of what is being said? Thanks.
