To be honest I’d be one of those glamping at Glasto and would be one of those ‘analysing Strava and not cutting my hedge’ types

Remember that happening and the craziness of the timing to get it on live telly. -

Interesting to see that, same size apartment in the Toronto area goes for 1.5-2x that price. I guess it’ll make a good cabin on the beach in a year or two! -
I’m in an apartment but had a small herb garden on my kitchen countertop with the grow lights and such. Took me a bit to get the hang of it, but then if it’s a plant I’m rather adept at killing them lol

Probably one of my favourite little gems close to where I live, Crawford Lake just outside of Milton, Ontario on the Niagara Escarpment. Crawford Lake is a meromictic lake, and they deduced the presence of a pre-contact village there from analysis of the sediments, ultimately finding the post holes of 11 longhouses, they’ve reconstructed three of them on their original footprints. Excellent spot to wander about, it’s also on the 900km Bruce Trail from Niagara Falls to Tobermory on the tip of the Bruce Peninsula if you really like wandering https://hikingthegta.com/2015/11/24/the-longhouse-people-of-crawford-lake/

I’ll kind of put my hand up to that, I do have a John Cooper Clarke version

The more I find myself reading and nodding along with these, the more I realise I’m turning into a mongrel of my Dad and Walter Matthau.

What Are You Listening To - The Reckoning

For sure! The album they did of Saint-Saëns Carnival of the Animals with Olivia Colman was great, and that was four years ago, an age for kids and a blink of an eye for us! -
Went to a talk at the ROM with the various authors of this book earlier this year. Glad that more of the 13,000 years of human occupation of this land is getting more mainstream recognition these days than just the last 250 years. Some uncomfortable learning at times, but necessary learning for better futures. https://www.niagaraparks.com/media-room/news/niagara-parks-publishes-new-indigenous-anthology-landscape-of-nations-beyond-the-mist/

Got to see Sheku and Isata Kanneh-Mason at Koerner Hall here last week, 6 month delay after their original date was postponed when Air Canada wouldn’t book his cello in the cabin on their flight from Cincinnati. Crazy talented musicians and a pleasure to watch and hear them play. -
Yeah that sucks for the kid. We were never admonished for the rapidity and randomness of going around the places, we’d often bounce back to the ‘cool’ stuff, to their credit my mum and dad left it as a fun time for us. Me and my brother now both have kids, admittedly now all 20+ years old that would rather do museums too . They’re coming up to Toronto for the first time this year and instead of the CN Tower and Niagara Falls wanted to do the Royal Ontario Museum, Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and the HMCS Haida. Go figure!

When I was a young lad I found a tiny coin at Housesteads fort on Hadrian’s Wall, probably one of the souvenir ones someone lost months or years earlier in all likelihood, but that ignited the love archaeology for me. Didn’t hurt having parents who were history nerds either, wherever we went as kids it’s seemed there was a castle or a museum or a site to be explained to us. Of course, as kids we always went belting through to the end without really reading things but we obviously absorbed stuff regardless.

Always found it quite curious how sure people can be of their indecisiveness

Made it through the day avoiding the score thankfully. Glad the Blues got the win but haven’t seen Queensland been that bad at Suncorp in a long time, giving me the hope that there might be a NSW winning run in the making! Haas was massive but Mitchell’s pass was sublime, when he fires he’s a special talent.

Followed that up at Clandestino’s, a tequila/mezcal speakeasy in old Montreal too . You’d have appreciated the ground worm salt and spiced roasted crickets! Was a couple of days for the eyes to roll back to where they should be! Indulgent but a needed break for the missus and me. -

Was at La Banquise in Montreal a few weeks ago for their poutine and had one with merguez sausage. Well nice! -

Grabbing a man by the pussy in Norwich? -
I do pen and ink sketches in the journal I use for Vogon standard poetry but that’s about it. Not always very good but that’s not the point, better something created that’s out than left inside.
