  1. Saw him playing against widnes a month or so ago Still runs the show Amazingly fit and athletic Still a decent player even now
  2. Anthony Murray and his coaching team are leaving North Wales Crusaders They have done an amazing job, so we can only assume they have been recruited elsewhere Rochdale is my guess
  3. Are you looking forward to joining the vikings next season and do you see this as a stepping stone into coaching
  4. If Darryl powell was with any other club in world rugby league, he would surely have gone after last night. Losing the dressing room but still having the support of the CEO Its make or break for Karl Fitzpatrick also, who has put all of his stake on powell succeeding. But time is rapidly running out for both men
  5. Id rather not share my ground with a rugby union team or a football team Clubs like warrington and saints have developed significant alternative revenue streams
  6. We can see 12 billion light years away A light year is 6 trillion miles This is a total fallacy
  7. I found this posted on line. Now let me start by saying im fully inclusive and rugby league leads the way. BUT, i thought this below intetesting having a bunch of public schoolboys finding their aborigional heritage Here goes I live in Australia, and in the last 20 minutes, something potentially fairly significant to our national... Psyche, I guess, just went down. For the first time ever, the national anthem was performed in an Aboriginal language, then in English, before a national sporting match (our national rugby team vs Argentina). I... Do not view this as a positive thing. Sure, New Zealand does this all the time. Especially at Rugby matches. But here’s the thing: the Maori in NZ have one, shared language, other than English. Aboriginals in Australia do not. In the slightest. There’s also the incredible irony that the singer performed it in the Eora language, which is, uhh, dead... The Gadigal people who spoke it were the first to encounter the First Fleet during the “invasion”/settlement of Australia, and, not coincidentally, they did not survive more than a few decades of white settlement... I get that it is “local”-ish to the area in which the game is being played, but that doesn’t change the fact that LITERALLY NO-ONE ACTIVELY SPEAKS THIS LANGUAGE ANYMORE... She could have sung it in Wiradjuri, maybe. It’s also from a nearby group, and is still (very rarely) actually used by them. But no, that would be far too logical... Anyway, I think this is a very negative precedent. I do, however, find it deeply amusing that the camera made it seem as if the Wallabies knew the words, in this dead language, and were singing along... I assume they were told beforehand that they had to mime along, to pretend they knew it, just to rub it into our faces a bit more..? Honestly, I don’t know, but it was ###### funny watching a team that doesn’t have a single Indigenous player, wearing their “Indigenous-inspired” jerseys, pretending to sing this in a language that literally no one speaks... We’re already subjected to a several-minute long “Welcome to Country” every ###### game. They added an extra “Acknowledgement of Country” to that, tonight, so it all stretched to nearly 10 minutes, with the anthems... But clearly that, and the jerseys, and the kneeling, just isn’t enough anymore. We also have “barefoot healing circles” AND kneeling before our cricket matches now. You couldn’t make this up, honestly... Oh, and you’ll be completely unsurprised that the wokies all over Twitter and in the media ###### lapped it all up, because of course they did... Any dissenting voices pointing out the irony of singing “in Aboriginal” (like I said, 250 Indigenous languages!!), or how it wasn’t inclusive, or how they’ve actively censored/changed the lyrics, for PC sake (no more “young and free”, in the Eora version!), were quickly shut down, of course... me this country is becoming a joke... Edit: you should see the reactions in r/australia... My god they are pathetic. They’re actually attacking Twitter for “not embracing it” enough... Man, what a ###### that sub is.
  8. Id say the CEO is the most significant person at the club creating culture, values, respect, structure, educational programmes and team work. I believe he has failed in every respect
  9. I totally agree I have thought he was out of his depth for some time
  10. Now i did a 24 hour shift on saturday into sunday Finished work at 11am Got home and was fine as i was well rewarded financially for my shift. So i was shattered Went to bed just after mid day to find the local pub right near where i live had a soul day disco on It was so noisy I was livid
  11. Womens rugby league in the UK has made significant progress in the last 5 years.
  12. The 3 day panic is over Relax and put your factor 69 away. Get your hosepipes out and celebrate LBQTI month by fully watering your cherry blossom. Splash that beast
  13. The 3 day panic is over Relax and out your factor 69 away. Gey your hosepipes out and celebrate LBQTI month by fully watering your cherry blossom.
  14. I spend 27 years in senior logistics management and then took an opportunity to leave that business, pay off my mortgage and try something new. What i found is that there are some truly nasty people out there who really want to see you fail. Ive been in this job 5 weeks, and because of my previous roles, im thorough, very accurate and detailed and focused on what im doing. One bloke hates it Literally cant stand the air that i breath. How best to resolve, without upsetting the apple cart
  15. Brisbane broncos Dolphins Newcastle knights Melbourne storm Penrith panthers North queensland cowboys New zealand warriors Gold coast Titans So the NRL simply dwarfs super rugby
  16. I think Hull FC will struggle in the new age. They are already slipping behind Rovers
  17. That site is dreadful My personal faviourite as the worst rugby league site, closely followed by love rugby league. The state of rugby league journalism at this time (if you can call it journalism) is very poor. I come on this site, as it is pretty good
  18. Whatevee happens i will continue to support my own team widnes. I think IMG will look past teams like mine. They will go for Newcastle, catalan, toulouse, london, wales, leeds, wigan, saints, warrington, hull kr, cumbria and cornwall for super league 1 I reckon 2.5 million per year funding from sky This undoubtedly will mean also finding a new supporter base with the traditional base supporting clubs in superleague 2 Hull, widnes, salford, castleford, huddersfield, leigh, wakefield, barrow, keighley, sheffield, doncaster, york, bradford bulls, rochdale hornets, swinton, featherstone, whitehaven, workington and halifax vying it out
  19. Hornets used to have a share of that ground and were part owners As per usual bit part business men sold it for a quick fix It is essential that rugby league clubs own their own grounds to allow a variety of revenue streams
  20. And i support JK Rowling and others being able to express their view. Somehow the virtue signallers want you to simply agree with what they say And now i have used the phrase virtue signaller lol
