Bob Fowler
I'd like to second the vote from Sportbilly and wish each and everyone of you a very happy and healthy New Year. I know that we do not all agree on matters , but your points of view are very much respected and admired by me. This will almost certainly be the last season I am physically able to support Rovers and I hope it will be one of the best. I would like to thank so many people who over the years have made following the team a pleasure and at the same time a chore. I know that the future of the club lies in attracting more yuoung people to watch the game and hopefully they will as I, and many others did, carry on following throughout their lives. Being able to help Rovers in any small way has given me much pleasure and meeting all you wonderful fans must rate as the highlight for me. I wish the club and team every success and thank Chris Westwood for allowing me to spout my thoughts in the programme for the last eleven years, sadly I will no longer be able to do that in the future as I am unable to commit any longer. May God Bless each and everyone of you for making my life just that little bit better and that goes for the many friends I have made throughout the rugby league World. BOB I AM SAD TO HEAR WHAT YOU SAY. IS THIS THE COMPLETE END OF YOUR ASSOCIATION? You have given lots of your time to the club and have always been a gentleman. I for one will miss you. May I wish you and your good lady all the best for the future. I don't know how ill you are but the tone of your posting indicates, not good. If there is anything that I can do for you please ask. Incidentally I think the least the club could do is offer you a Life Membership for all your efforts. Keep ticking over old friend and I look forward to seeing you in the future. Not even a close call! Colin
Bob Fowler
Sorry for the delay in replying Colin only I've just spent time in PGI. I'm afraid the only reason I won't be at ANY game is because my health is not good. I take each day as it comes. My association with the club will always be there and it has been an absolute privilige to be able to assist the club in any way I could. There are many supporters who deserve recognition for their work and support, I am merely a servent . The club have promised me that I can go as a guest any time I wish so that's as much as I require. I am now using a wheelchair, but I'm trying to walk without one so that I can sit in the stands. I have had many good wishes and I thank you all for them. I will follow Rovers as long as I can and I hope to be around when we win the Grand Final at the end of the year. At least then I can apply for a disabled parking space To be a ROVER is a privilege not to be taken lightly, with fans like ours, we will always be honoured.
