Current play off system dosent reward league winners at all

Are the 8s a play off?. I thought they were just a different part of the league season. Surely the top 4 at the end of the season are the play offs.

Potentially, even before then though it was the top 8 play off system.

The 8s aren't a playoff 

It's just another part of the season, that's why everyone keeps their points. 

The top 4 the  have a playoff for the final and the tital. Cas have almost certainly earned themselves a home playoff spot and that's their reward
