The team I chosen was players I'd watched from 84/85 to current season, probably a reason those players aren't included in the current hall of fame. Maybe 1 or 2 will be selected in future and I wouldn't disagree on any of the current selections, I just hadn't watched them to select them in my greatest team. I'm sure if I was selecting an overall greatest team then plenty of the current hall of famers would be in contention for selection, some great talents and legends of the rugby league game.

i watched all of my choices playing for widnes from 1964 onwards

"Why is Napoleon crying ?" said one sailor to the other, "poor ###### thinks he's being exiled to st helens" came the reply.

Never saw Hardisty and Hepworth, too young.  My old man man would undoubtedly have them in though!

Had second thoughts on Hardaker though...Steadman to full back ;)

they were brilliant

Now that lot above would put 50 on 99.9% of teams in any era along with being pretty handy with the knuckles as well.

Two Englishmen.

Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.

Joe Walsh turned up at Moorends many moons ago and one of the local teams (Marshland Rangers) only had 13 players, Joe said I've a pair of boots in my car if you want a sub (He'd have been late 30's /40ish at the time) The game kicked off and as the game progressed Marshland where 8 points down with 5 minutes to go, they lost a player so they had to put this old guy (That's what they thought as no one knew him) on,when the final whistle went Joe had scored three tries.

It surprised me to be reminded of how many good players played for Carlisle, one that I think was missing though was Mick Morgan

I was thinking the same, I do believe he still holds  the record of most tries in a season for a prop (While playing for Carlisle as well)
