Championship and L1 attendances

These are last season’s average attendances in the second and third tiers of Union, according to Wikipedia. They make our equivalent divisions look positively thriving

There might be a few of those I've never heard of but some of the others have had serious amounts of money put into them,. Loss leader's I suppose

No wonder they want to scrap promotion and relegation with attendances like that in their second tier.

Most of these clubs have budgets way in excess of anything in Championship or League 1 too and pretty much all lose money. There's lessons to be learned for RL on how the top clubs have killed off the leagues below them though

Doncaster aren’t far off either, and if they were in the equivalent division I expect they’d be higher. 

Also interesting to see that adding Birmingham to their name hasn’t done much for Moseley’s support.

Quite clearly he is saying there there is significant national media focus on the Scottish third division, whereas the rugby league championship gets none despite being much better supported. I expect it’s also better supported than the Women’s football premier league too, which now gets plenty of column inches.

Indeed. There was then also the "Other Pools Matches" list which was read out but excluded other matches in the same league/division not on the pools.

Incidentally, Scottish Junior football, routinely outdraws lower level 'senior' football but never gets its results read out. Northern Ireland football outdraws both.
