The form of Tom Burgess

Recommended Posts

He's been excellent all season and is certainly amongst the leading front-rowers in the competition. He's thriving in his role as pack leader.

I think that today vs West's he was absolutely outstanding both in defence and metres made. And that kick!

Good on the fella.

Souths seemed to be a different side when he went off as well.  Having a big impact this year and all good for England too.

It's the sign of a good player that the team plays better when they are on the pitch.  This is definitely the case with Burgess and Souths.  When he was on the pitch for both his first and second stints Souths looked far more dominant (to be fair, Liam Knight also had a good game today as the other starting front rower).

According to NRL.com Burgess played 52 minutes and ran for 178 metres.  He almost always won the collision and so his carries offered momentum to the Souths team and a platform to attack from.

What I like is that he is always looking to offer support runs as well which means he is in good shape... and yes a nice touch with the grubber.

He’s in superlative form . He even induced a penalty by holding the ball out in front of him thus tempting an opponent to kick it out .
