I’ve set up the Supercoach competition for 2025.

Here’s the details with the all important code you’ll need to join in.

 

I’ll add extra details when I have a bit more time.

Please join early as we know from experience that all 20 places will go and I don’t want you to miss out.

You are welcome to enter whether you've played here before or are new.

It's a league limited to 20 teams with places available on a first come first served basis.

My team is named Darrington DRovers

The format:

* H2H - 20 teams, starts Rd 1, top 8 finals Rd 23 (9th-16th Minor Finals, all teams play each other once)

* Total Points comp

This is our 2023 league title with the six figure code to enter

You can auto pick a squad if you want. As usual there's unlimited changes allowed until Round 1 kicks off.

It's going to be interesting to see how people use the flex position : is it for cash cows to make money, or to enable you to include a third top quality full back?

Either I reckon. Haven’t really decided, or got my head round it yet.

I've not looked into it much yet, but I think many will place a gun fullback in their flex position.

If your flex player is a full back, yes you can. You still cannot vc a reserve.

It is a league based on friendly competition.

I'm  already struggling to find the right balance between set and forget guns, money making cheapies and the mid rangers that will add significant value. There are a few of these coming back from injury who appear to be quite heavily discounted, but some will be traps. There is a lot of value to be had in pack positions for those prepared to take a risk.

I tried an auto pick team to see what would happen. The team picked had a predicted first round score of 1070.

I've never used auto pick. It feels like cheating, in the same way some people think that looping your vice captain is immoral!

Not only that VC  nonsense but now it's the flex position. Yes let' s have three gun full backs as that's were the points are nowadays. I watched a podcast bloke was quite open just go with two cheap hookers let then sit all season as they don't matter.

I' ll just be sticking to the tipping competition this season.

The auto pick would not be the team I’d pick. I’ve also picked a couple of other squads.  It was done out of interest to see what the result would be.

That's a shame. I always look forward to when we play each other and I will miss your insights on this thread if you don't post.

Edit : just looked at the league entrants and the Belfast Cats are there. Have you changed your mind? I really hope so.

I welcome the change as injuries have killed many Supercoaches in recent years. I may take a different approach this year and stack my centre/wings and go cheap at HOK and FRF, where the upside isn't as high, and in 2RF I'll look for value.

HOW TO PLAY

• Register for SuperCoach NRL.

• You have a $11.8 million salary cap and 26 players to pick.

• Select two hookers, four props, six back rowers, two halfbacks, two five-eighths, seven centre/wings, two fullbacks and one Flex player. Remember to save your team!

• You will need a mix of top-end stars, bottom-priced players who will rise in value and a few in between. Look for players who are underpriced due to injury or a change in role.

 

NRL SuperCoach 2025

• Need help picking a side? Try the auto select feature which picks a team for you instantly using our smart technology.

• Change your team as much as you like until Round 1 starts.

• Before each round, choose a final 17 (13 starters and four reserves). Only the scores of these players count.

• Also choose a captain, he earns double points, and a vice-captain as back-up.

• You have 46 trades to maintain your side during the season. Each week you can make up to two trades, except for the bye rounds when you get three trades

No, Belfast Cats have been withdrawn in line with Irish Saint’s wishes.

We look forward to his contributions elsewhere in the forum.
