There are alternatives - https://www.rugbyleagueontv.com/radio - although I'd usually plump for the ABC stream. There are some early morning matches where I don't want to be staring at a TV screen.

Avoid the 2GB Continuous Call Team - they are a bunch of blokey fossils who haven't articulated an original thought since the Eighties. I can think of a small number of TRL members who'd just adore them.

The childish banter and comedy I hear on some footy radio calls is woeful. Horrendous. The absolute bottom of the barrel.

I remember the 2GB crew doing Origin one year and they started talking about all the countries it was being broadcast into, prompting Darryl Brohman to do a series of "comedy" foreign accents that would have been booed offstage in a Seventies nightclub.
