The irony here is that I worked as a sub contractor at his rather splendid house during the times you suggest he didn't have the money. His in laws lived in another part of said splendid house and his father in law told me how much money he'd ploughed into Hull KR. And it was quite a few quid.

Absolutely! I remember when Hull KR were trying to compete with Hull FC not so long back and Neil Hudgell signed as many Aussies as his club’s tinkering could manage. They weren’t interested in building a club from the grass roots up, they wanted a quick fix. They earned the nickname “Hull Dispensation Rovers” after a fair bit of jiggery pokery to make sure they had as many Aussies as possible. Also, when Catalans played in East Hull around that time, it was a time when they were known for being able to field as many Aussies as they wanted yet, they had more French born players in their team than Hull KR had English players.

Hopefully, I shall be attending tonight, along with my son and a few pals. We'll be resplendent in our Hull FC colours hoping, the Sky cameras manage to spot us during the celebration of Billy Boston's life and during the game also. Apparently a team from Hull are playing Wigan tonight so that's added interest for us all...

Yes, but the club he played for charged their fans £5 just to watch him train. Not sure how much they made out of that enterprise...a tenner maybe?

Hull KR forward Tevita Pangai Jr has seen his ban extended by another game after an unsuccessful appeal. Pangai Jr contested one of his Grade A charges in an attempt to reduce his suspension, pleading not guilty in front of a tribunal. However, his challenge was dismissed and as a result, he has been given five more penalty points. That takes him over the threshold for a two-game ban on that specific charge. As such, he is now banned for five-games, ensuring he will only be eligible to play again this season if KR reach the Super League Grand Final.

Just watched the highlights and I was interested to see the superstar kid Jack Charles, that Rovers signed from Hull FC, make a feeble attempt at tackling Laguerre in the build up to Tropis's first try.
