  1. I think the result of the choice to merge the leagues is a risk of a race to the bottom rather than the top and you have situations where you may have relatively big clubs at the top who need to invest to aspire to SL whilst having clubs who are essentially amateur at the other end which will pull down the overall standards. Midlands could easily move if they ever want to or start to grow so can’t imagine the lease restricts their growth in that sense - but maybe it’s more a sign of where they see their level. League one was a nice development base for new clubs and expansion clubs until they build some good foundations. it’s a real shame it’s gone.
  2. That place makes Sheffield Eagles ground look good. Looks like a good base for the club for training etc. but looks a bit amateur for Championship RL.
  3. I think Salford’s funding should be withheld and shared out amongst the other clubs
  4. I actually think a well organised Wheelchair World Cup could standalone in the UK and would be well supported if done at the right time of year. I remember attending the Copperbox in 2022 and it was a great event.
  5. The other venues were Brisbane, Wollongong, Gold Coast, Port Moresby. Plus others but can’t remember them!
  6. In which case they will have been correct and clearly uploaded in error too early!
  7. Yes 4 games in Christchurch in the men’s competition looking at the website. Although every city says 4 games so that could be inaccurate I guess
  8. I tend to agree, I’m not against us updating the logo, but not sure they’ve fully nailed this. Would be interested in the method they used to validate the design.
  9. Why are we playing the 26 Australia WC (what happened to PNG?) in Ireland?
  10. For the third Ashes test I sat in the new North stand at Headingley, I had the misfortune of a front row seat near the western terrace end. The view was awful, felt like below pitch level and had no idea whether a team where 2 metres or 25 metres from the line at the other end. Can’t imagine having a season ticket there every week for Leeds. Truly awful viewing experience. In the interest of balance, last year I sat in the new south stand seated section for the Samoa test. View from there was great. BUT would not have liked to be in the terraced section - looked borderline unsafe with the amount that were crammed in. A view reenforced by a friend who was in there this year.
  11. 18,000 sold so far, next phase opens up tomorrow with 8k people having registered an interest so assume it could be sold out within next 48hrs!
  12. There’s a staggered sale, so ticketed members get priority, then non ticketed members and then general sale - but even then you need to register for initial access. Can’t imagine there’ll be many after the non ticketed members so you might have to be quick.
  13. Ok I have more info ticket prices and current sales status!
  14. Yeah exactly. And Ashes internationals down under aren’t as critical when they have a strong Pacific Champ and when they keep winning Ashes over here. Once we win them, then go down there for the next one and it will have good publicity!
