Stack would be a miss for any team in this league mate but I've watched Burke from an early age and I just hope tomorrow is the day that he produces what he is capable of and leaves it all on the pitch.
that back line of Carter,Hulme,Murphy,Mossop with Lewis chiming in is as strong and exciting back line you would see in this division. Its all down too Lupton and Forber to supply the ammo and set them free early . I cannot see Jams living with it if they do, and with Callum on the bench to rip the guts out of them up the middle they should be very concerned.
i really like this post wonderofwood. At one point earlier in the season I thought we were doomed and hadn't recruited enough quality for this league but what a turnaround and it's in our own hands and a win tommorow would be massive points wise and for beating them lot.
Well done Workington that was your best effort for a number of years at Post Office Road; Your team was applauded off by the Featherstone fans; Get behind your team you are going up the table with that attitude; We (FEV ) will have to improve to get anything from Derwent Park;
thanx phil. I wasn't at the game today but given what we heard on the radio and fev fans comments it shows we are moving in the right direction. Best of luck for the season (except at DP)
Even Batley fans said before the match haven would probably turn them over as they are poor at the moment. Same old haven fans as one win and the negativity, arguing amongst themselves on their forum and calls for woods head are gone and their world beaters again. Heros to zeros back to heros from one week to the next
A thread has been started on the haven forum regarding KT who is quite poorly at the moment. There are messages of support and best wishes on there to keith. I am sure we all on here wish keith a speedy recovery. Get well soon keith.
The haven fanzine strikes again! Just a quick look at the back page in the garage and a big spread on havens game with the words back us and a small narrow colum down the side about the cumbrian derby. Its our coaches first match and he gets a win in a very good cumbrian derby game and we get a rally cry to back haven all over the back page. Nothing changes eh
You forgot the rest of our squad that play at The Halliwell Jones. They are all registered to us this season .
Kash Watkins is Callum Watkins brother and Jack Cooper is Mike Coopers brother and of course Josh Barlow is Sam Barlows brother !
In my opinion our BOD's choice of new coach will say a lot about what we want to achieve this season. The only local coach I would like is cresta. I don't know of anyone else that could improve us who is local (cumbria). If we bring in from out of the county then lets wait and see.
Plainly obvious throughout pre-season that there isn't enough experience or strength in depth at the club. What puzzles me, is how clubs throughout this competition with no grounds or secondary income (such as speedway) manage to get overseas players or seemingly lower revenue that Town will have coming in.
We seem to have one overseas player at any one time, when some of the clubs have 5 or 6.
We know from past experience that its easier to attract players to the area from the southern hemisphere than Lancashire and Yorkshire, so the question is....why don't we?
Best intentions aside, its impossible to build a squad of local players because
1) there isn't enough quality locally to do it,
and 2) what quality we have is split between Whitehaven and Workington.
The sooner rivalries are put aside for the good of the game in West Cumbria the better in my opinion. The romantic notion that we can support two professional sides locally while fighting for the same sponsorship from the handful of local firms will do nothing else but see both clubs eventually sink into the bottom division again with no immediate prospect of a return to the Championship.
If the game is to prosper in this area, then both clubs have to sit down and formulate a plan to merge. Then, and only then will we see the game start to move forward and attract a new generation of supporters to watch the club.
don't want to turn it into a merger thread but saying as you've mentioned it there are wispers going around that it could be on the cards due to the restructuring of the league.
I think you will find it was another cumbrian club who tried to sign him,and if any one from workington or barrow offered him the money you are saying they would bankrupt themselves point blank.
ah troutmaster you are talking to another cloak and dagger haven fan on here in audrey. Unlike you and I who use our username on the haven forum they feel the need to hide behind a different username on here. Everytime town make a signing its always the same crack its for daft money. Haven4ever/BKM tells me its wigan kids joining us this week but no doubt it will be for "daft money"
