Lets get the hankies out before the game is even played, as i said last week it would impossible for Haven to play a team, who havent played for the First Team this year, as we have used 43 players in the First Team Squad. The team that played last week only include M Jackson who has played regular First Team, but was deemed UNWANTED by our coach/ex coach. So does that exclude the lad from playing full stop. I think you cannot play anyone who had made over 6 First Team appearances. The Reserves this year have been the only PLUS in our season, and only to lose 2 games all season, is fantastic. Those were both games when they were short of a full compliment of 17 players. ( No Subs in one game, and 2 in the other). My only hope is we get a better Ref, because the one at Haven 2 weeks ago was very poor for both teams. HW

Skee was another who our ex coach deemed not good enough, yet i think given a decent run would be a decent player. Coming from the Harelquins he is obviously no duck egg. HW

Apart from Jackson who fell out with our Coach/Ex Coach and was dropped from the first team, all the lads you named have only ever been bit part players covering injuries in the first team. In a season were we have struggled in the first team, were you have excelled, its our Reserves who have put their first team comrades to shame. I believe we have used over 43 players for our first team this year, so it would have been impossible to put out a team who hadnt played first team. Looking at the team, i think 14 off them have actually played for the first team this season or last season. As for the Ref, he useless for both teams, he had no idea of offsides and played a very short 10. His linesmen were not much better, they actually gave us a Conversion which clearly missed. Nice to hear your player is fit to travel home, because it looked a bad one. Hope you can win next week, so you can return to The Rec in a fortnight. HW PS with players missing today, i think we could field a Full Team who have played one or more games for the first team this year.

I dont think you can knock Wigan this year, they have played their Kids when they had too, Mr McQuire doesnt seem too big on egos, if the stars are not performing he has given youth a chance. He also has them miles fitter than last year, even the Pie Man Riddell seems to have shed a few pounds. When you see Roberts, Phelps and Paliesena in the Reserves, you cannot knock his selections. HW
