Would need a huge transformation in the sport as a whole. Get more people interested and participating. Not an impossible task but its been on the decline for decades so would need something fairly drastic to happen. A strong presence in the nations capital would/will be a good start.

Aye unfortunately, but 30 years for any fixture is far too long considering the pool of professional clubs we have to work with.

I've been watching Batley for going on 30 years and never seen us play at home against Leeds, Saints, Wire, Wigan, Hull. I feel all them teams would pull an attendance bigger than any seen up at that Mount in that time. Certainly wouldn't be the same old same old for us. Don't think you have to go from the extreme of elite top level pros pitted against amatuer teams to find that bit of romance.

As frustrating as it can be from time to time with communication between club and fans, the club have always punched above their weight with the limited resources they have available to them. As you mention, plenty of clubs have had the begging bowls out (on numerous occasions), whereas we have managed to get by with what we have. So as a supporter, we can only hope that the custodians continue to deliver results against the odds and we need to carry on doing our bit and backing them.

What about away at Blackpool. Think we were getting nilled at half time and then walloped them second half?
