  1. The TV Thread

I'm pretty sure that the first time Concorde came to Leeds / Bradford it was an Air France one. On a later visit to LBA I was exceedingly lucky to have an Uncle who had a contact with shell who provided the fuel at the airport and we saw it in prime position from the fuel yard at the airport away from the hordes. I'll try and dig out the photos if I remember.
  2. Ward apparently fit to play... https://www.therhinos.co.uk/2017/10/06/ward-cleared-play-betfred-super-league-grand-final/
  3. Best end to a game you've ever seen?

Leeds v Saints cup semi at Huddersfield in 2003. The McGuire try and Sinfield conversion that took it to extra time.
  4. Burrow to Retire

I remember the game at Wilderspool, not sure it was his debut but one of his first matches. We were properly stuffed that day but the try Burrow scored was a great taster of what was to come.
  5. No matter what some think on here, a great servant to Leeds and the game. http://www.therhinos.co.uk/news/mcguire-set-to-bow-out-with-rhinos-27049#.WWS0RumQyUk

Do you know the dates of the other fixtures?
  7. Rant thread

Leaf Blowers - Pointless noisy things that serve no purpose.
  8. Uninteresting Trivial Facts

I have the same affliction. Today's tune is Marguerita Time by Status Quo!!! That will teach me to watch the Top of the Pops 1983/84 reruns that have been on BBC4 recently.
  9. Rant thread

Two lanes should queue and merge in turn at the front. Every other country it works like this. In the UK we have to start to move over half a mile before the lane closes - WRONG...
  10. Beer and Pubs

Yes, I've supped a few Howard Town ones. Somewhere in my garage I've a bottle of their 10th Anniversary beer that I'm keeping for a cold winters night in a few years time.
  11. Beer and Pubs

The micro pub is called the Beer Shed. Open Wednesday to Sunday. Compact it may be, but it has a cracking range of beers. We also have the wonderful Torrside brewery. If you happen on one of their open weekends (August Bank Holiday next one) then you'll need carrying over Churnal, they brew some very strong ales! Oh and give me a shout out if you do make it over, I'll buy you a pint.
  12. Beer and Pubs

You can find good beer pretty much anywhere these days without too much effort. My favoutires at present: Huddersfield: Some great traditional pubs such as the Rat and Ratchet, The Star and The Sportsman A couple of relatively new but great places The Grove and The Mallinsons tap plus one of the best of the new generation craft brewers Magic Rock and their brilliant tap. Manchester: Too many places to list but a great increase in new bars and breweries in the last few years. Leeds: Has always been a good city centre but has had some brilliant new bars added over the last few years. Even my little town of New Mills in Derbyshire now has a cracking little micro pub serving an ever changing 3 cask and 4-5 keg beers plus a well stocked fridge full of bottles.
  13. Manchester arena

    Still has the sprung floor.
  14. Manchester arena

They were playing the Bridgewater Hall I took my 12 year old daughter to a gig at the O2 Ritz in Manchester on Wednesday evening. Whole family had a discussion about going, but we (quite rightly) decided that it was the right thing to do.
  15. Depends if our old men wilt in the heat. If not will be close.
