  1. Which Wakefield are also doing so it’s not an IMG signing is it
  2. I hope John Drake has got the extra bandwidth arranged that this forum will need on the day of the announcement of the SL 2025 clubs
  3. In other seasons Wakefield would only have been able to sign players in November - that was the rule wasn’t it? Oh no didn’t Leigh sign a load of SL players whilst in the Championship but that was pre IMG so doesn’t fit some narratives
  4. Strange argument that doesn’t really hold water. You wouldn’t need to spend a billion pounds to sell out any game. Some clubs already have full houses for games. Some for the majority of their matches. The game is, if we are being honest, small time but with potential for uplift. Making profits whilst not realising full potential isn’t a great place to be for a professional sports club providing any losses are sustainable - see above paragraph. If you want all clubs to be profitable what would you cut? Players wages? Support staff? Academies? Scholarships? Ground capacities? Increased marketing by most, if not all, clubs would be great for the game and I include your own loss making club in that.
  5. So how does that increase turnover unless you sell more season tickets which would be a good thing?
  6. Please could you expand on what you mean by the bit in bold?
  7. Then it’s a text book voluntary tackle and not one of these fake but allowed voluntary tackles. However some defender will always put a hand on the ball carrier so highly unlikely to occur mores the pity
  8. You wouldn’t reverse a penalty. You could have easily penalised Connor for interfering with the PTB as the first offence.
  9. The first post to accurately describe what happened. The referee probably thought it was a 6 of one and a half dozen of the other type of incident.
  10. The biggest upset of the season as a rejuvenated Hull FC win and get rid of a second coach called Smith this season
  11. It wasn’t the most blatant knock on. 99% of people watching didn’t see it in real time etc. The Captain’s Challenge wouldn’t have impacted the decision as you can’t go back past the PTB just like the current VR. A player could shout and rant as much as they like but there are much more likely to end up in the bin than any change to the decision Also the Captain’s Challenge relies on the game stopping for a referee’s decision so you can’t just challenge when it’s a “play on”.
  12. Hall has suffered from a lack of playing time. I know there were reasons for last season but he has been crowded out this time around. Fortunately he is young enough to develop if he gets a run of games under his belt
  13. That’s been part of his problem. He’s played at 1, 3, 4 & 6 (no doubt with a spell on the wing thrown in) which can’t be easy for someone trying to establish himself in a team. He looks like a promising centre but needs a decent run in one position
  14. I suppose it’s how you define inflated contract. Is it high compared to the Championship but middling at best in SL? Also wasn’t he released early by Warrington? If so there may have been some sort of pay off involved with his current contract being average.
  15. The issue this season has been the inexperience of the TV crews with incorrect or poor cameras being chosen for the replay(s) despite, in some instances, the VR requesting the correct camera. I was aware of the Notts Forest reference being ironic but it does show how poorly some can react to a decision or decisions even when they are correct
