excolt
I remember in the days of one division Hornets winning the their first 5games and drawing at Widnes, and we then went as league leaders to Batley and lost 34 -10 hope lightning doesn't strike twice. Pedro
I remember that start. Fortunately a good win at Barrow. I couldn't make it but any win up there is good as Barrow are a strong team.
glemiln
Lightning start continues 18-4 win. Great result and performance, especially defensively. The coach/players/backroom staff are doing a superb job and a special thanks to the club for allowing the Saturday travel. Thankfully, we haven't got Toronto away next week! No respite though - only 3pts separate us and 6th and London will be tough with York away at start of June. That should be tasty.
Anita Bath
I remember in the days of one division Hornets winning the their first 5games and drawing at Widnes, and we then went as league leaders to Batley and lost 34 -10 hope lightning doesn't strike twice. 1969-70 Won 4 and drew 1 of first 5 games. Barrow, dewsury, salford at home, widnes (7-7) and Barrow away. After the win at Barrow (14-7) lost at Batley 21-6. Beat Doncaster at home the folowing week but then lost the next eleven! Also 1977-78 second division. Won first nine league games then lost at Batley 24-6. Barrow did the double on us that year but we had beaten them in Lancs Cup at the start of the season. Thank the lord we arent playing Batley next week, or any other tie this season. Onward Hornets........
mickhornet
Our defence was first class, which won us the points in very wet cold and muddy conditions.Thought the ref Mr Crashley played a blinder.Always difficult to win at Barrow. And twice in a season is exceptional It will be interesting to see how York get on here next week ,and Toulouse in 3 weeks espec, if the bad weather lasts. An old truism - " Defence wins you games ". It's not often we win a Barrow, twice in one season is exceptional. Looks like the over night stay paid off this time. Well done the management and players. Onward, Hornets Onward.
