  1. THE POWER OF FOOTBALL My, wannabe writer, son wrote a poem about lockdown in the hope it would be used as part of the BBC's Upload Festival next weekend. This morning he got an email today saying that our local radio station would be playing his poem this evening. He informed family and friends to tune in. He then had to tell them that his poem will now be broadcast on Thursday due to a 2hr radio show to celebrate Swindon Town becoming Champions. The all consuming power of football ? PS I'm a very proud father anyway

  3. Just finished a binge-watch of 'Dinnerladies' on Netflix. Yes, a bit of a too-neat happy ending in the final episode, but everything up to that point has some of Victoria Wood's best dialogue, touching scenes and mundane absurdities.

  4. For those interested in romantic underdog stories of Cup giantkillings there’s the possibility of a big one in Germany tonight on BT. Saarbrucken, who play in a regional Liga below Bundesliga 3, have a semi final against top flight Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup (DFB Pokal). It will be Saarbrucken’s first game in 3 months and they’ve had an incredible run already, dumping out Bundesliga sides Fortuna Düsseldorf and Cologne in previous rounds.

  6. Thanks very much. It's great you are interested. I have sent you a couple of articles that you may like to read about MTK and Liverpool. I haven't read the book so thank you. I will buy it on Kindle. Yes I like Scottish football also so I will read it. I bought 2 similar books, The Mixer and Zonal marking which I have yet to read. https://www.planetfootball.com/trending/the-story-of-the-two-hungarian-strikers-who-went-to-liverpool-but-never-played/ https://www.google.com/amp/s/beyondthelastman.com/2016/10/13/mtk-budapest-all-fake-nines-no-fans/amp/

  7. For a world where the working class of England can vote for a Old Etonian as an antidote to the elite. Time for Yosser to return and I don't mean the poster on here.

  9. I tried really hard to watch I May Destroy You, but it's not for me. 15 mins in, I turned it off, & I searched iPlayer & watched 2 episodes of Normal People. Maybe it's my age, but I preferred that.

  12. Bill Evans - Times Remembered on Amazon Prime http://www.billevanstimeremembered.com/ A brilliant 90min documentary by Bruce Spiegel on the genius composer and pianist. Unique in style, crouching over and massaging the keys sublimely and emotionally, he recorded over 50 albums, including as a side man with the likes of Tony Scott and Miles Davies (“Kind of Blue”) or with his own trios. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Evans_discography Sadly, died in 1980, aged 51 from pneumonia, following years of cocaine and heroin............enjoy the ride.

  13. Watched "My Spy" on Amazon. Nothing special but I did enjoy it and it made both me and my wife laugh on a few occasions. Easy, simple Sunday afternoon viewing. ?
