  1. well investigated business plan with at least 10 year targets and regular checks on KPIs? This is the rugby football league we are talking about…..whenever have they required that? Most ‘expansion’ clubs dont expect to last that long. But well done to the few that did ( sheffield, north wales….) it wasnt because of the above criteria.
  2. Dont think the change has happened yet…there was a further consultation document issued to local residents earlier this week. The proposal involved increasing the crowd threshold as you indicate and also counting a multi date concert as one event ( they were pisxxd they couldnt host an NFL players girlfriend). Although aimed at concerts I am sure the stadium authority would argue this also covered the Magic Round.
  3. Lang Park already at three. Also the additional factor of the local bye law limiting the number of events with large crowds given its located in a residential area. The bye law is currently under discussion but mainly to allow for mega pop stars to book Suncorp for multiple dates.
  4. My spouse calls it my Jim Royle day.
  5. Ive explained in several other posts there is nowhere for a third team to play. Suncorp is maxed out already and the pitch is paying the price for overuse. Now there is an athletics track at the old QE2 still available and in 2032 a new cricket/ olympic stadium, but no stadium suitable for NRL ( unless they want to use Ballymore!)
  6. Played 4 games and scored 1 try for Blacktown Workers, Manlys farm team, in 2024 NSW cup.
  7. Assuming they were Foxs biscuits
  8. If Des Hasler is the answer for Titans Id like to know what the question is. The game has passed him by. All Fifita needs is someone who knows how to coach in the 2020s.
  9. Melbourne announced this prior to the start of the season…its old news being brought up again because of the Federal election. Interestingly a lot of other clubs have discreetly dropped welcome to country without any bruhaha. Melbourne have indicated they want to restrict it to Indigenous round where it has more meaning. I think some people are at the stage where they want to go to a rugby game free of political matters. At some games I have attended Its the time when people get up and go for a beer. It also a money spinner for the companies who provide the WTC ceremonies.
  10. Ive told you a million times not to exaggerate
  11. 1963. 13,000. Thats two matches… Just wondering what you understanding of the word whenever is.
  12. 1973 tour 1st test at 100,000 capacity Wembley. Attendance 9800.
  13. Hope the seats will be a bit bigger and leg room will be increased to finally end the ‘yorksher model’ of preventing you getting your hand in your pocket.
  14. If ever there was a sport that is over officiated then its Rugby Union. On consecutive nights I went to Broncos v Bulldogs and Reds v Blues at Suncorp Stadium. One game was an exhibition of flowing rugby the other a eton wall game of pushover tries that the spectators never get to see (so who scored?) and stoppages for technical offences that have to be posted on the scoreboard for fans. I recently watched CDs ( yes I am and old fart!) of the British Lions tours in the 1990s. Those games were a delight to watch. While League has maintained the excitement factor by and large Union has gone from a spectacle to a testicle.
  15. Mission accomplished! Next three at home, no away games in May. First two are Saturdays. Chance to test ourselves against high flying Hurricanes. That one clashes with Mayfield home game.
  16. Some folks remember a ground because its where they lost their virginity. I remember Alt Park because it where I lost my front wheels.
  17. Yes the sponsor on the Roosters shirt is unobtrusive. I think Roosters have played in a similar strip as some sort of third strip before. I cant bear those strips that have ‘scenes’ on them, I would never wear one, let alone buy one. I was at valleys v wests, the big derby in the BRL today….just a straight forward last post ceremony, minutes silence then kick off. Much prefer that to the elaborate military parade type stuff. Showing respect for the fallen and veterans without extending it for 20-30 minutes.
  18. Excluding my own team….. Favourite UK Wigginton Road, York Aus North Sydney Oval Least Favourite Alt Park, Huyton Aus Jubilee Oval
  19. And the number one pick in last seasons draft was……..Australian!
  20. He is big into football with financial stakes in Bournemouth and Lorient in France. He has no history in The oval ball game though there is union involvement in Auckland FC.
  21. Need to restore some red rose pride after what happened on tother side of Royton last night
  22. No prop forward will win the DallyM
  23. Our first of three trips to the dark side this season. We broke our Yorkshire hoodoo last season. Lets hope we come back with the spoils from Dewsbury.
  24. It will depend on what a NZ2 team offers for future TV contracts.
  25. Minnows? Did you miss the play off final? OK I took the bait. Hope its a great game tonight and a big crowd. Enjoy.
