  1. I dislike the term mindfulness but there are some great tools under this heading. It's about learning how to switch off. I did a course and they described the mind and thoughts like a train going through a station and mindfulness is not getting on the train.
  2. No it isn't even that. Its an admin area which includes one council from Cheshire
  3. He is 32 on a 2 year deal to join Sidlow at 34 also on a 2 year deal. and we already had one of the highest average age of the team. We need to be bringing through younger players, or in 2 years we will have to rebuild the whole team yet again. Short sighted and blinkered. Not sure either of these signing offer much and for me are less than the players they replace.
  4. Good Grief Salford now sign another old boy. Andrew Dixon, why why why !!
  5. No you have a squad, they haven't played yet to see if they gel as a team.
  6. It's getting the name known in the first place, the Olive Tree was by Yoko Ono. Her only input was to scribble on the pot. Her profile was raised by association with Lennon, although she was known in the 60s not sure her art work would have kept her in the public eye 50 years on.
  7. Went to the Guggenheim in Bilboa recently, their artwork included an Olive tree planted in a pot, and a tin can burning ethanol.
  8. He was prone to lots of mistakes at Salford under little pressure. Not seen enough of him at Cas to know if he has been cured of that.
  9. It's about developing a team not a squad. Throwing money around is usually a sign of a squad not a team
  10. Hard watch, but the women in his life are strong. Rob's dad could hardly cope far more emotional than his wife. Maybe it says much about Northern women. it's great they recorded his voice and he can still make jokes with even the worst subject under discussion (end of life care)
  11. He was originally at Salford had just a few games and couldn't get a starting place. Chamberlain was also at Salford and was nothing more than a squad player, we let him go and kept Burke which probably says everything.
  12. Harvey is off to Huddersfield to join the rest of the ex Salford players. Sidlow signing is underwhelming to say the least, didn't rate him in his last time with the club and now so much older. Worried the team is too old
  13. Isn't that the problem though? The coach walks into a great set up, with a settled team and maintains performance. What extra has Woolf added? I can clearly see the difference between Lam's Wigan to Peet's Wigan. I can see Peet's impact. Same can be said at Salford, picking up the team after the mess left by Marshall. All achieved with a limited budget and having to rebuild a squad every year.
  14. I've said that twice about Salford, Watson and Rowley and been proved wrong each time. I suppose Lam proved that a coach can make a difference even with every advantage.
  15. Thrilled to bits for Brodie. he has led from the start and been inspirational. It shows how good man management can turn a player's career around. Never dreamed that Salford would ever have a Man of Steel player let alone 2.
  16. That was Marwen and different Company to the one run by King and Blease.
  17. Isn't the system different this year. Last time Salford got to the final 1 V 2 played with the loser having the 2nd chance against the qualifier. This was after week 1 off whilst the other teams played.
  18. Why just the final, we saw the impact of Salford losing Brodie Croft and the Ackers. Why just head injuries should we wait for other injuries caused by foul play too? If the expects say 11 days then the player welfare is the paramount. It happens all season, and we all know Saints have had to cope with such adversity during this season
  19. Just a quick warning for those of you that normally travel from Eccles to Old Trafford on the tram. It isn't running until the end of October. Replacement bus from Eccles to Media City. It runs from Manchester to Media City and back only.
  20. If you hear any interview with the 3 spine players they spend a lot of time discussing and practicing those "off the cuff plays" exchanging messages etc. I think that proves your point.
  21. I am surprised at the number of people tipping Salford over Saints. As league leaders they have to be fav surely?
  22. I do wonder when I hear teams improve and a player revolt as to whether the players decided how to play in those few games. It did happen at Salford under one of the awful coaches we had (take a pick from Greg, McRae,Harvey etc) I don't recall which one it was though.
