Tory kidults on the council fella. Using the ground transfer as a political football, obstruction to score points, grandstanding causing delay, costing SRD, SCC and most importantly Salfordians money. Their money. As a reminder, the stadium transfer is not about sport. SCC rents a number of offices throughout the city to accommodate their services. Simply because they do not have enough space to house all their staff. Acquiring the Stadium allows the council to stop paying rent and use that money elsewhere. The stadium has around c13k square m. The current price for renting a square m in Eccles is around £40/50 pcm. Go figure how much that saves. However tell that SRD kids. Enjoy the weekend people. Chill, relax and relish the sunshine.

Not healthy, certainly not clever or wise. Aside from securing enough click bite coins to ensure Martyn and John reads this from their newly acquired sun kissed beach side bijou and topping up IMG "Fandom" points for SRD, seriously find something else and chill kid. Please.

SRD officials ain't happy. They are displeased with: "Inaction" and "pontification and procrasination" of "some officials." of Salford City and StadCo who run the ground. And thus feel the need to call this out to alert people, but most of all provoke resolution. Their beef concerns- How the Stadium transfer has dragged on, with a December date on tenancy approaching. That a £115k plus agreed payment on food and drink was reneged on. Torpor on what they call "state aid" (sic) (its development grants actually) following the club re-establishment as being a community business and raising £367k this summer. That StadCo continue to rake off 8% of gate money whilst allegedly being "Inactive." And oh a hike on the price of match day parking cost the club a grand. And in consequence thhad to take out a SCC council loan, on which they have to buy interest. They could, but havent also pointed out that they also sold some able performers as well. Personally I am not sure if Poker Diplomacy is the way forward. It should certainly evoke a response. And aside from seemingly unhealthily triggered embittered Tory kidults, I am sure all of the Rugby League family wishes a more swift resolution. Paul King of SRD meets the RFL suits today. I am sure a keenly worded missive from them will endorse this. IdrewtheHaggis, myself now, will be at a wedding or two with those supposed "inaction" officials will be attending. Minds a JD lads.Yours an explanation.

That Wigan list of forwards is fantastic. In comparison Solly have a miserly three props-one being Singleton and the other The King V of penalties. All we need now is the Pies acquiring Regan Grace. -

Rumour has it that SRD are talking to Shorrocks and would like take on Hill on loan. Well so is Powell, Byrne, Cust and Bullock just to turn the Reds more chewy cherry like. -

Add Farrell, Shorrocks, Isa and Smithies. And inevitably there will be some lads at Academy level on the cusp. Astonishing. -

No I disagree. In April, SRD and every other SL clubs were re-assured the Central Funding was to be £1.5m in 2024. It is actually £1.31m. In 2022, the stadium hospitality was re-tendered, with it agreed that SRD receive a pct of food and drink sold on match games. This been reneged by the hospitality firm (annual profits £22m). This would have been £116k. That is basically the £200k wage gone. Had they been obliged, then Croft would probably still be in Red, at least this week....... -

Yes I agree Chris. It was as much to prevent a 2nd Hastings leaving for nought. As well as ensuring capitalization of a principle asset and making sure its just a little more challenging for heavy indebted rich boy owned clubs dangling the cash. -

And probably £200k in wages. I can not say I am delighted, but hey its part of the territory being a Red. Better than the £zero Solly got for Hastings moving to Wigan to play hooker then. Anyone got an idea what Ackers went for? And yeah Leonard I like yer analogy of SRD being a Brighton. Perhaps eventually a Skt Pauli, Union Berlin as well with the CBS. -
Erm maybe so, but bare in mind that various concepts of a community owned/run club have been openly discussed from the latter days of Koukash by both SRD management, the Supporters Trust and individuals like me. A collective ownership is the only answer to the absence of an individual benefactor. If the CBS, the "People's Club" is amassing IMG points, then that is a happy concindence. Is there anything in the IMG scaling about unsustainable indebtedness? Not that financial doping is going on when half the SL clubs annually report seven figures losses.

Headingley disabled parking
idrewthehaggis replied to Midlands hobo's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Hobo glad to hear that the club were helpful and responsive. I hope your wife and you have a stress free and enjoyable day supporting the England. Accidentally I am grateful for the information provided on here for Leeds. We have someone who have mobility issues among our small party that attends "aways" for SRD. And we have earmarked Headingley and Perpignan as "Big weekend" trips for next year. So cheers. I am sure I am not the only one who'd love League Express to do a fan's view article of equal access ( ie for disabilities, limitations, etc). -

You understand correctly. That money is part of the ongoing CBS business plan, which as you state is for operations and the mechanism to apply for additional development funds. It is not for the wages of players. As someone very familiar with community owned projects, including FC United, i realized that back then and I expect, if not urge the club to have annual fund raisers. (If club A needs money then normally the management asks the owner. Salford now has hundreds, so its fair enough to look to us.again.) Whilst you may understand, sadly Salford's distractors don't or more likely don't want to. I've mentioned client journalism, some of our supposed wordsmiths are more troll journalist in their odd obsessionality about the Red Devils. Whilst I expect the collective dismal discord from kids on here sat in their bedroom, dressed in only their Spiderman underwear, I sort of expect a higher line of inquiry from professional reporters. I don't get it. The pre-occupation with Salford. It can't be jealousy, as sincerely the Solly are usually haphazardly ###### most of the time, nor do we act in an entitled fashion like certain. I can only imagine the trollery and general bellendery is more about the overall prejudiced frenzy about "Manchester", its success in comparison with the rest of the generally dissolute North? Nae surely not? -

idrewthehaggis replied to Mumby Magic's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Just to clarify that crowd funder will be a mechanism to apply for additional funds now that Salford is a CBS as opposed to being a personal fiefdom of rich boys. It is supported by SCC and GM Elected Mayors Paul Dennett and Andy Burnham and is more likely to be processed hopefully under a Labour government. It will be finalised on SCC buying Peel's half ownership of the stadium, which because of erm local Tory machinations has been delayed till the next fiscal year. That money will not be for players wages. Community development, club organization, facilities yes, but not the salaries of the latest Aussie import. It though will release current funds spent on operations for team development. I hope that clarifies this. As for feeling "piffed" as you describe it, well feeling distressed, demoralized, disappointed or dismayed is all part of supporting Salford. So same old same kidder. -

Erm Ackers? Don't tell that is from a certain client journalist? Nene MacDonald signs for Salford. Officially from the club. -
"We will work with everybody impacted and do all we can to maintain this development." Fair does RFL. Some clarity of what that would be might calm nerves.

Couple of thoughts. Yeah one of the Tonga internationals should have been in London or the NE. Second is it true that FC allocate 1000 season tickets to their sponsors and count them as attending? Or is that in the spirit of a Shawesque factoid? Third has anyone contemplated that club attendance averages will drop when Toulouse/London replace Wakey. Especially Cas. Therefore should SL have a 29 game season to overcome this and the reduction of the central funding loss?

Can not say i am chuffed to read Solly sell again, especially to a fellow mid table rival. My gripe is that having budgeted on what the club was told by the RFL in April. Only to be informed that the figure was false and £290k less. And to add to that another £116k from hospitality has failed to be shared allegedly by the catering company, despite being apparently contracted to do so. Hence whilst I share some concerns about the running of the club at times, I and many others are p!shed external factors have created this. Personally I'd be concerned if I was Brodie. Sezar, Austin, Lolohea all dropped in form once they ascended to the apparent bigger platform in Leeds. It's a hard gig to follow from the golden generation. And if I was SRD I'd wait until the season closes. See how much the Grand Final/Tonga tests go and petition for a 29 game season, with the extra game revenue closing the money gap. But hey be it rain or shine.......... -
