  1. Hobo glad to hear that the club were helpful and responsive. I hope your wife and you have a stress free and enjoyable day supporting the England. Accidentally I am grateful for the information provided on here for Leeds. We have someone who have mobility issues among our small party that attends "aways" for SRD. And we have earmarked Headingley and Perpignan as "Big weekend" trips for next year. So cheers. I am sure I am not the only one who'd love League Express to do a fan's view article of equal access ( ie for disabilities, limitations, etc).
  2. You understand correctly. That money is part of the ongoing CBS business plan, which as you state is for operations and the mechanism to apply for additional development funds. It is not for the wages of players. As someone very familiar with community owned projects, including FC United, i realized that back then and I expect, if not urge the club to have annual fund raisers. (If club A needs money then normally the management asks the owner. Salford now has hundreds, so its fair enough to look to us.again.) Whilst you may understand, sadly Salford's distractors don't or more likely don't want to. I've mentioned client journalism, some of our supposed wordsmiths are more troll journalist in their odd obsessionality about the Red Devils. Whilst I expect the collective dismal discord from kids on here sat in their bedroom, dressed in only their Spiderman underwear, I sort of expect a higher line of inquiry from professional reporters. I don't get it. The pre-occupation with Salford. It can't be jealousy, as sincerely the Solly are usually haphazardly ###### most of the time, nor do we act in an entitled fashion like certain. I can only imagine the trollery and general bellendery is more about the overall prejudiced frenzy about "Manchester", its success in comparison with the rest of the generally dissolute North? Nae surely not?
  3. Just to clarify that crowd funder will be a mechanism to apply for additional funds now that Salford is a CBS as opposed to being a personal fiefdom of rich boys. It is supported by SCC and GM Elected Mayors Paul Dennett and Andy Burnham and is more likely to be processed hopefully under a Labour government. It will be finalised on SCC buying Peel's half ownership of the stadium, which because of erm local Tory machinations has been delayed till the next fiscal year. That money will not be for players wages. Community development, club organization, facilities yes, but not the salaries of the latest Aussie import. It though will release current funds spent on operations for team development. I hope that clarifies this. As for feeling "piffed" as you describe it, well feeling distressed, demoralized, disappointed or dismayed is all part of supporting Salford. So same old same kidder.
  4. Actually I was thinking of the one who says he is the clarion caller of the sport. So fun n games Indeed. Martyn of this parish, Davidson, Carter and Bower are good and proper journos.. Best was Hadfield imo.
  5. Erm Ackers? Don't tell that is from a certain client journalist? Nene MacDonald signs for Salford. Officially from the club.
  6. "We will work with everybody impacted and do all we can to maintain this development." Fair does RFL. Some clarity of what that would be might calm nerves.
  7. Couple of thoughts. Yeah one of the Tonga internationals should have been in London or the NE. Second is it true that FC allocate 1000 season tickets to their sponsors and count them as attending? Or is that in the spirit of a Shawesque factoid? Third has anyone contemplated that club attendance averages will drop when Toulouse/London replace Wakey. Especially Cas. Therefore should SL have a 29 game season to overcome this and the reduction of the central funding loss?
  8. Can not say i am chuffed to read Solly sell again, especially to a fellow mid table rival. My gripe is that having budgeted on what the club was told by the RFL in April. Only to be informed that the figure was false and £290k less. And to add to that another £116k from hospitality has failed to be shared allegedly by the catering company, despite being apparently contracted to do so. Hence whilst I share some concerns about the running of the club at times, I and many others are p!shed external factors have created this. Personally I'd be concerned if I was Brodie. Sezar, Austin, Lolohea all dropped in form once they ascended to the apparent bigger platform in Leeds. It's a hard gig to follow from the golden generation. And if I was SRD I'd wait until the season closes. See how much the Grand Final/Tonga tests go and petition for a 29 game season, with the extra game revenue closing the money gap. But hey be it rain or shine..........
  9. Very wishful thinking, albeit there is an apparent mystery donor to The Mighty Reds. Who knows? The Betfred Empire is not just the eponymous Fred but his equally loaded bro from fellow Ordsall (pronounced Odd sull) Peter.
  10. Win as whoever triumphs will expand the spread of RL. Win as it's a jolly away for supporters. But....... As neither have tremendous away support, in replacing Wakey means aloss of income, especially for Cas. Added with the apparent £190k in TV money it creates a fiscal hole. I suggest a 29 game season (22 round robin, 6 loop on a regional basis and Magic) That would mostly cover the TV money drop. And if it's Toulouse, then definitely make their loop fixture against Les Dracs, big, special and epic.
  11. You asked. " The title sponsorship contract was last extended in 2019 when it was valued at UK£1 million (US$1.32 million) per year." https://www.sportspromedia.com/news/super-league-betfred-title-sponsorship-extension-st-helens-catalans-dragons-grand-fina/?zephr_sso_ott=lth0mB#:~:text=The elite rugby league competition,US%241.32 million) per year. So I presume it's £1.25m pa £100k per club?
  12. Erm usual knockers and doubters for Salford on here. Part of the territory aided by client journalists! Been a bit ###### round here with HS2 cancelled, MUFC bollix and whatever is going on at Salford. I can understand how RFL suits uselessness is resulting in a £300k deficit. But I'm confused about this week's crisis at Solly given the increased revenue (big fan donation/gate/Dupree fee) this year. And the disputed £115k from food and drink.of course the fans crowd funder is ring fenced. Seems SRD are mulling over bringing in MacDonald, Kennedy, Bullock, Harvie Hill and Byrne. Odd crisis.
  13. Given MacDonald is probably replacing Ken Sio so not so sure. Nah if he is coming and you had a new wee bairn, would you want it to learn a Salford/Manc accent or Yorkshire. Salford Yorkshire. https://youtu.be/ScELaXMCVis?feature=shared
  14. If we believe what is said then SL clubs asked the RFL how much they would be allocated from the new TV deal and budgeted on that. Unfortunately what they were told was wrong and £190k less. Hence the discomfort. So if the TV deal is £20m per year and each SL clubs gets £1.3m, then where is the remaining £4.8m? Certainly not yer Championship/League 1 clubs nor BARLA. Just to recall....... https://www.sportcal.com/financial/huge-severance-payments-to-former-execs-contribute-to-rfls-1m-losses/
  15. It's seems they are more so p!shed about the timing and as well claiming the RFL took them to expect £1.5m rather than £1.31m. Sure as a co-owner I've got plenty to query, but not on here. However selling your kingpin to a rival cos of a seasonal temporary shortfall would be the start for me. Anyway. Has Owen Trout moved?
  16. This needs its own thread. Sort of around- 1. How, why is TV money being reduced when the deal hasnt been approved? 2. Why did the RFL took 8 months to inform clubs? 3. Why does it take a supporters email to confirm the above? 4. Will anyone at the RFL takes responsibility? Seems SRD are in a quandary thanks to the RFL again. Whilst others clubs might choose to further indebt themselves, I'm not sure SRD want to this winter. It needs some some steel to work through as at least Solly can look forward to revenues increased. Anyway back to the transfer rumours.
  17. Source? Jenna again? Yup. The club whose crowds have increased, who received a silly but welcomed fee for Dupree, raised £1/3m from the fans, is applying for associated grants up to £1m plus due to the community club status and will receive 1/5th of food and drink revenues from next year. King said last month that Salford intend to increase Operational costs by £350k next year. Crisis?! Hardly the multi million indebted financial doping elsewhere. Paul King wouldn't have much time left if he had to respond to every piece of clickbait. How much are Leeds in debt now? Why is Newman off and can anyone be sure Rohan will be there come next season? Anyway Jai Whitbread is off to KR. The agents of Tarif Simms and Rhys Kennedy is being touted round NW clubs and if Thompson does arrive at Wigan, which of their props will be loaned out?
