Everyone gets injuries. It is, and always has been a rubbish excuse for being ######.

It isn't. When you plan for a season and all your plans go through the window because of a horrific injury list, when your best acquisitions go on the long term injury list and you are playing green players out of position it at least explains why you are not challenging for the top or comfortable in the play offs as we had hoped. Every club gets injuries, but not in the same capacity. Of course some teams are more affected than others. This much is obvious. I recall Hull FC having a similar situation a few years ago. People didn't seem to question them like they do us.

Now you're just being ignorant. You have ignored every thing I've said and repeated something I've already addressed and discredited.

No, Im disagreeing with you. Do you see the difference? I read what you wrote and rejected it.

But you've added absolutely nothing as to why not having 13 of your players available to you is a bad excuse to use for form issues. You've just lazily repeated your already lazy opinion.

How is an opinion 'lazy'? Is yours hard-working?

For the hard of understanding, I would just repeat that injuries (in my opinion) are never a good excuse in my book.

Have you had 13 players unavailable for every game you've played this year? Are the 13 players all from your first choice 17? Fev went into yesterday's match lacking four of their starting best 13, but it didn't rate a mention as it's just part and parcel of the game.

Widnes have been surprisingly ###### this year. A club gunning for SL really does need to keep up appearances by at least making the playoffs.

re. the bolded part, if injuries are irrelevant then why ask this question? The fact is, for large portions of the season, it's been around 7 or 8 missing. It's a relevant thing to bring up when your form is questioned and you have been affected to this degree. Your two main prop forwards are injured very early on into the season, your captain is missing for a lot of the season, your main scrum half leaves the club half way into the season to coach with Hull and you are playing players out of position, it is absolutely inevitable that this will affect form. You've added no argument to this whatsoever. I've explained why we have been "surprisingly ######". You just don't like the fact that it isn't as black and white as you'd like to make out.

Oh and your opinion is lazy because it's a well worn thing to say, and when you've been challenged on it you haven't backed it up with any facts whatsoever or explained it. It's a lazy opinion.

One of Steve O'Connor's first appoinments after he took over as Chairman in 2007 was Stuart Wilkinson. Stuart was drafted in to head up youth performance in February 2008. So obviously Steve O'Connor was conscious of the importance of youth development then. Other clubs in the Championship could have made an effort in this respect but it would seem that most did not. They just poured their money into their first team. We will just have to wait and see until the next round of licensing who have got it right.

Arrogance again :O So because you say something its been addressed & discredited ZEEZ.

We have and still are coping with a very bad injury list but we have managed to keep out of the BOTTOM FOUR even without using as (many) loanee's or dualies as others have, we will probably still end up in the top 3.

Discredit that.

I've already shown you these posts. It's not my fault you ignore them. Get a grip and grow up Mick.

NO YOU HAVE NOT L.I.A.R.

Please ignore my posts from now on as you just further embarress yourself & its gone very tedious & extremley boring, that's a good chap.

But if this was the case Widnes would have spent more on the squad than we have! We are working within the current system the best we can! And what part of injury list is ambiguous to you? Honestly.

Aaand we've reached full circle on your tedious and boring little game.

If you don't want me responding to you, lay off Widnes. Simple as. Concentrate on the strengths of Barrow. If you have enough, you don't need to bring us up do you?

You don't see multiple, snidy people laying into Barrow Halifax or Leigh's license bid, which should tell people everything they need to know about who is the frontrunner in the license race.

I suppose its better to be moaned about by countless worried fans than to be largely ignored by everyone not that I'm going to enjoy it getting worse as the time goes on.

Other Clubs fans have a pop at Widnes because they are jealous, plain and simple.

And that is not me being all high and mighty, just telling it how it is.

Like you said Bulletproof, it's better to be moaned about by countless fans, rather than ignored. If we are ignored we are not percieved as a threat in the Licence process.

Lobby, what have you just typed? Clubs dont run academies to tick a stupid box. They do it for the future of the club. It's where players come from before they run out for the first team, y'know?

But you can have different types of academies can't you? On one hand you could run a completely amateur academy on a "town team" basis with a strong link to amatuer set-ups. On the other hand you could run a completely full-time academy where the young lads are full-timers. These will yield different types of players

Jealous and hopeful. In denigrating Widnes they are trying to justify why their own club should be picked.

That's why they've latched on so heavily to our performance on the pitch this year. If they can find one reason why Widnes should not go up then it gives their own team a better shot. If Widnes went bust tomorrow you can guarantee that Halifax would be treated the exact same.

Licensing is supposed to be about medium to long-term. About putting things in place that should enable prosperity long term, like youth development and stadia etc. To try and ensure a degree of competitiveness the RFL included on the field stipulations and to be honest it back fired a bit as the most likely team to come up met them at the first opportunity. This meant that all Widnes now had to do was put out a competitive side and meet the rest of the criteria. Widnes did put out a competitive squad this year but have not challenged. This is not surprising when you consider the loss of key personnel including a 2 of your main signings for much of the season, a captain and a Head Coach on compassionate leave for much of the season.

It would defeat the object of licensing if the RFL simply took into account on the pitch this year and put in a club that are less viable in the long term.
