Rugby League World Cup 2013 is pleased to confirm that beIN SPORT have been granted exclusive rights to broadcast matches live in France.

FFRXIII President Carlos Zalduendo said:

“I’m very pleased that current Rugby League broadcaster beIN SPORT has acquired the exclusive rights in France to Rugby League World Cup 2013. This is another step forward in our approach to media coverage of Rugby League.

Do we take it that this impressive line-up will be in action both sides of the Channel. If so smashing for the French game. BeinSport has been like a shot in the arm with WC now following SL and NRL.Its never been better.

Zalduendo will be searching for further steps to ensure a television rights thing which I dont think the game has ever had.

Bein Sport have become serious contenders alongside Canal Plus for pay-per-view sport. At the moment they are rumoured to be in talks along with Canal for Top 14 union competition. Canal have the sole rights presently. It is expected that these discussions will be concluded by December.Some here believe these negotiations could impinge on Bein's existing and future involvement in our game.

Canal covered the Dragons during the first couple of years and then Orange Sports but neither have given the coverage that Bein have delivered.

It would be chicken feed to them to fund both the Dragons and Toulouse participation in SL I reckon. Everyone here holding their breath.

Does the RLWC organisation get the money from Bein or does it go to the French Federation. ? Either way it's good news for the World Cup.

I would imagine RLWC, in much the same way as I wouldn't expect Seven to be paying the ARL

Do we know who the overseas broadcast partners are yet?.. assuming Channel 9/Fox in Aus, SKY in NZ, we now have beIN Sport in France.. any others?
