Keith T
The Wigan starting line-up in the friendly was :- Tierney, Manfredi, Gildart, Higginson, Fell, Doran, Powell, Greenwood, Waterworth, Lever, Lloyd, Davies, Shelfordd. Interchanges were:- Bretherton, Lawrence, Shorrocks, Jones, Moore, Wells and Paisley. Greenwood scored their try and Shorrocks kicked the goal and then had a try disallowed for a forward pass in the closing minutes. I remember when ............................."It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996. Keith T
No but I think Powell played the first half and then Shorrocks took over. Remember it was 18 - 0 @ half-time and second half was 6 - 6. Anonymouse
i fully expected a second half come back in that game seeing the much fitter and well drilled full time elite had a good interchange squad on hand

Spacecake
Rhodri Lloyd ???? Can't be you turned him down coz he wasn't good enough to get in your team and he ended up coming to haven !
Townie123
If forber is missing out then that's tough... As he has got towns "star man" in at least the last 2 games ... If there's 2 halves from full time wigan then we have no excuses do we.. Should be creating tries left right n centre
The Voodooguru
I can feel another " I told you so" on the horizon.... The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

Don't know who told you we turned him down because he wasn't good enough Spacecake but they told you the wrong story!!! If the crack was ever right he was offered to Town on loan as a back rower, a position we had plenty of cover for, so he didn't come. He went Haven because Wane wanted to see him in action as he had been at Widnes and hadn't performed. His first game for Haven was in the centre against Town at DP.
