Scotland Four nations team

Recommended Posts

Read in this months Rugby League World that Steve McCormack was over in Oz speaking to NRL about availability and eligibility for the Scotland four nations team.

Does anyone have any confirmation of whose made themselves available and what the Scotland team would look like.

I'm assuming Joe Wardle and Danny Brough are still playing for them. How bout James McManus and Peter Wallace?

If they can get a full team out of NRL and SL players then they might surprise people.

What type of impact would success have for the sport and international team in Scotland?

Players' eligibility should be listed as part of their NRL registration.

Peter Wallace is currently injured and may not be back this year.

Kane Linnett from the Cows might still be celebrating if the Cows win the GF.

Luke Douglas from the Titans will probably want something to take his mind off the dreadful season the Gold Coast have had.

Ben Fisher is still running around in Sydney lower divisions.

Keith Galloway might be too busy packing up his home and family for the move to Leeds.

I can't think of too many others. Scots tended to migrate to NZ and Canada, Engerlanders and Irish migrated to AUS.

Lachlan Coote from the Cowboys has said he's interested and wanted to play in the World Cup but didn't for a reason I can't remember.

Coote, McManus, Wallace, Douglas, Galloway, Linnett, Fisher, Kilday, Massey even Wade Liddell are Scot heritage playing in Australia at the moment.

Wallace has an ACL injury and is gone for the season. Lachlan Coote was injured around WC 2013.

Wade Liddell? Must be playing fairly low level. Otherwise retired.

Ben Fisher has retired and runs a gym in the Eastern Suburbs.

Corbin Kilday has made a few appearances for CQCapras in Q Cup  http://www.totalrl.com/forums/index.php/topic/264894-brit-rlers-in-oznz-2015/page-6#entry3167493

Massey might be injured because he hasn't been in the Raiders or Mounties teams for a while.

Wade Liddell has just returned to play for Logan Brothers in Brisbane League.

Ben Fisher is still playing for Asquith.

Nathan Massey is playing for Cabramatta in Ron Massey cup.

In that case forget Liddell. He'll be 37. Fisher will be 35. Wallace said this week that his next injury will mean retirement.

The absolutely worst possible result for World RL. Success with a team of heritage players would prolong the myth that Scots actually play, and care about RL in Scotland and continue to make it more difficult for countries like Italy and Lebanon, where they actually have functional domestic leagues, to progress into the WC.
