How will the delay of this season affect 2021? Will it start later and run into the World Cup or will it be shorter? What will happen to the NRL?

With any sense, SL will pause relegation and be able to promote 2 teams from the Championship giving a shortened 27 game season next year meaning the should be able to push the start back to the beginning of March.

As for the championship this year if they could complete 13 games, they would have played each other once which only means another 9 weeks ( 2 months? ) for most.

To give fairness then perhaps have a top 6 playoff for the top 2 teams to be promoted with a playoff final.

There should be a point in the calendar, when, should the sport become cognizant of a further delay, that there is a decision made by the clubs, whereby this season,as it stands with the league positions, games played, those cup games still to be played, the whole kit and caboodle is just postponed until 2021 and then this campaign begins and ends in 2021 - as a build up to the World Cup.

It should make for a shorter but more intense campaign, and hopefully attract larger attendances.

I see little point in playing games when society attempts to come to terms with the financial and health implications of it all.

There is more to it than just the playing of the games.Player contracts being just one issue for next season etc.

No reserves, but resilience, persistence and determination are omnipotent.

I wonder what the position is regarding a delayed season, would Sky insist on a full season to fulfil a contract obligation or would there be flexibility?

Whatever the outcome is, it is essential the RLWC is prioritised so it is unaffected, if that means a shorter season then so be it. Whilst I do think Super League clubs would be flexible, I worry NRL clubs may not be.
