Manly players refusing to wear Pride Jersey

There is no exclusion here. They are free to play. In fact, people want them to play.

Included as long as they celebrate and actively promote Pride.

Call it Pride Round. Make a big hullabaloo on TV, etc. Just respect players. Not everyone has the same guiding beliefs and values. That is why it is so misjudged to foist an ever-increasing range of issues onto the field of play and onto players on the field about to play.

Keep the field for the game, as far as I am concerned.

Of course the players are not being excluded, as in banned, from playing. But the club's decision obviously makes them feel excluded because of their beliefs.

Isn't that the same as when people say there are no actual barriers to ethnic minorities or homosexual people taking part in RL, and the answer comes that they nonetheless can feel excluded for cultural reasons, etc?

I understand the point you are making, but I think at times we can get lost in the technicalities and end up with the wrong conclusion.

People being so accepting of people publicly standing against LGBT campaigns surprises me, but also shows that there is still a long way to go.

Similar points were made about BLM and we are still seeing terrible stuff coming out now (Cricketscotland).

There are still issues, and making these gestures to show solidarity and support to these communities shouldn't be controversial. The fact that they are controversial is problematic.

I mean look at the way the thread has gone, we are at the hysterical stage with people coming for their kids.

LGBT is still an issue for many people, including on this very thread.

well said.

I really didn’t think I’d be accused of going after someone’s kids when I started posting in the thread! Bizarre!
