On a pedantic point, I would rather not see references to "the government's Football Foundation."  The foundation is a charity; it is thus specifically NOT beholden to what government says.  It may choose to work with government and that no doubt has merits in various contexts, but it is not the possession or plaything of the government!

So is this aimed mostly at improving the quality of grass pitches? Or does the same spirit of co-operation apply to 3g and 4g pitches, and other facilities that can be shared, such as clubhouses/changing rooms etc.?

Either way, I think it's great that the money generated by football is going to be used to give a boost to other sports.
