Cleary sure ain't my favourite player, but credit to him for this initiative. Sounds like they'd have a decent first thirteen. With the conflict likely to stretch to at least 2025 the Ukrainians presence at our WC could be big news.

I don't understand why you are congratulating him. For what? Telling others to sign up for something he is not willing to do so himself?

Okay, poor choice of words, but I meant credit to him for assisting them. Why can't he offer support whilst remaining loyal to Australia?

Because in the modern world, everyone is too eager to sneer at good intentions and altruism.

No, not at all. I just genuinely think I have missed something here. Title states that Cleary is getting behind Ukraine's quest to reach the World Cup. Then when you read it, he says: "Yes I am eligible and proud of my Ukrainian heritage, I won't be playing for them, but I think others should." How exactly is he "getting behind" them?
