Did have to pull the highlights back a fair bit due to the range between dark and light overwhelming the camera. Its all trial and error for me, as I'm trying to teach myself. .

Its all trial and error for me, as I'm trying to teach myself. If you pull things back too much then you can start to get into an HDR effect, a piece of advice I read was great, once you make an adjustment and you think its right, put it back a bit as that is probably what is right. Good photo regardless. Good photo regardless. Good advice, thanks. I'm happy with the framing of the shot, it's a different angle on a popular landmark and one to try again next time I'm down there with the tripod. .

Padge Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Most places I want to visit are in the uk. Just wish you could guarantee the weather! Dry with thin cloud, that's what you need. I hate it when I am out with the camera on very bright sunny day and people say "good day for photographs", it 8l00dy well isn't, its one of the worst days for photographs. gazza77 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 A first attempt at motorsport yesterday. A good opportunity to experiment with settings and what worked and what didn't, I learned loads having the entire day to wonder around the course, try different vantages points and enjoy mixing my love of bikes & photography!
