Agree Toffee, at the moment we're good at talking up. Bad luck though over Fages and Walton, those deals were 99% done until the problems at Salford. However JK does have a bit of a problem; he's expecting his 1st choice no. 1 back in 2 weeks, his no. 7 same so what position does he cover? 1 winger would free Ainscough to move back to his best position at centre and he now has young Morgan as cover for a number of positions so he probably can't reconcile bringing in players on a lengthy loan just to sit around if a few of our injuries clear up. Either that or he leaves his own lads out to pick loanees. Either way he's unpopular with the fans. Plus the fact that we're expecting him to bring in ready made SL proven players and looking around there don't appear to be that many staring us in the face.

Dont understand why we seem to sign 3 props and 3 second rowers without fail every season and no real cover for the halfs or three quarters. The year we made grand final we had potts kicking his heels and hemmingway on the bench . Since then our squad hasnt been anywere near as strong in depth

More forwards than backs suffer niggly injuries perhaps or is that an old fashioned woe

'Shaw cross juniors, Birkenshaw, Mirfield, Heckmondwike Panthers, Stainland Stags and then the Heavy woolen donkeys... WARDY, STOZZA, GT, KARL OR KEAR MUST OF DROPPED A DIGIT FROM MY MOBILE NUMBER! :clapping:

Cutting to the chase, a playmaker/leader on the field of play is required in our ranks, then you will see the best of our great pack of forwards. Attrition rugby league needs a flair player or two to rest the forwards at crucial times, create the gaps, and keep the opposition guessing with a clever kicking game. I have not known any club winning honours without such players

It is the type of rugby we are playing Toffee. Our recruitment , apart from being very much budget driven, is aimed at the overriding tactics of our coach. We are not a team that is being coached in expansive rugby, and the personnel recruited has to reflect the team tactics. The success of these tactics is still a work in progress, which unfortunately each season has to go back to square one when our outstanding players are sold on, and a new crop of recruits brought in to learn the tactics.

My argument is that John Kear has done an excellent job with the budget and resources he has at his

disposal. To add further to that argument, we could have been very successful had he been able to secure the services of quality personnel season on season, with a settled team. The question is, what would this have cost the club to secure key players with extended contracts, could we have made an effort to raise this funding, against the potential risking of our status in this division?

If only we could have kept them . It fustrates that we only offer one year deals . Brown as been very good this year if is forn continues im sure clubs with better income streams will look to sign him. Then we after to start again with new players. Keighley was relagated but kept there half backs and bulk of there squad. I still think handsworth would have done a good job of steering us round the field az he was a talker and people listened and did what he said

Heard from a couple of very reliable sources that we're looking at Pila Manua, a Fijian scrum-half who's been playing RU in North Yorkshire. Set for trials this week.

#daretodream.

As much as I love to be kept up to date and well informed, either it be from KN himself or "a friend of a friend heard down the chippy", I wonder how many times things have been posted on a public forum for all to see, and us having potential signings snatched from our grasp at the 11th hour ?

Not for one second am I blaming you terminator or any other of the forum faithful, so please don't take any offence, but as of late plans or gossip of plans seems to fall flat on its face, and if anything it hurts a little to think we were so close, yet always end up so far away :(

Read the supposed signings name.

Now do it again, but this time, slower!

Donk iddick a Latvian scrum half was seen buying a jock strap from rawcliffes in Dewsbury. Looked 7 stone overweight with a lazy eye but hes sure to be good for the craic in the dressing room

Whoever and however a name goes, it's now beyond time that something happened. Even with a full squad fit we're still not in a position to go forward. We signed 25 players supposedly capable of doing the business and 3 wins from 11 says they're not. If our budget is so tight, then with the greatest of respect to our chairman and hard working board members, we need to be on the lookout for a take over to increase our purchasing power. Not easy I know, but clearly confidence can't be let to keep going down, be it amongst players, staff or fans. For the first time in a long time the club, after today, is in crisis.

How can one be on the lookout for a takeover? What does that mean? What would be in it for a prospective new owner? Is any RL club a money earner? Or any sports team for that matter? Which probably means that we should be looking for a supporter to take over! One with a bit of money. Does one exist? Or are they already running the club?

Equally, l would suggest getting a bit of a thumping from Leigh does not put us in crisis. However, if we lost our next three matches, l think we are well and truly in a mess.
