Much improved performance from the boys. Must have been the inclusion of dual reg eh anonymous and town123.

Back soon....... Gone fishing.

Exactly as they haven't played together !!! Jesus some people !!

Let's bring tierney .. Manfredi .. The young prop up ... Who else... ?

Move jack Murphy from 1 to 3 ... To accommodate tierney ... Drop ritson after playing 2 difficult games... Moves Elliot miller further down from getting game time... Who we dropping out the forwards ? Latu maybe ? Coward close to fitness ? No he will have to wait another week and do some shuttle runs to get fit ...

That will be right as rain then ... Team to beat bradford right there

moves Miller further down the pecking line? Seriously? The lad can't play at present even if pv was desperate for 1 extra body. The moment elliot is cleared to play I'm sure he'll be 1st choice, kris coward still isn't available to play it again I'm sure he would be. As for latu, if it comes to the haven game and he's still as unfit as he is, then damn right get him dropped for greenwood. We need players who are going to win us games, wether there from workington, wigan or Australia, sentiment is great, until your sat rotting away in league 1. Then I'm sure you'll have more to complain about. We should play the best available player in that position, regardless of where there from. If it's 17 town lads fantastic, but until the likes of Miller, coward, callum etc return then that's simply not the case.

and to add a little to my last point I actually think Dewsbury played far better than Sheffield over the 80 mins and that is the game we probs should have won on the account of the opponents performance .

i think it's more that town played better against sheffield , we were terrible against Dewsbury and that was with 17 lads who've trained together and had pre season together, and it was easy our most disjointed performance of the year.

I know we all said the result wasn't important but conceding 68 points in 50 minutes is shocking against any side, never mind one in your own division.

Was told Callum could've played tonight at a push, no idea how true that is though.
Regarding Latu, the lads flew with his family from the other side of the world so he's already shown a big commitment before he's played. I agree with Wonky and the only way to get his fitness up is to play him. He's obviously the type of player who needs to constantly work at it and is not naturally fit.
I'm expecting us to edge a tight game, and it will be nice to see us with no duel reg.

well said about Latu. If he was a local lad no one would have said anything, remember big ginge, massive fan favourite, but not exactly the fittest player we've seen. Personally think with the likes of shacks and scholey who could easily play 60-70 minutes, then Latu is ideal for a massive 15 minute spell each half where hopefully he can showcase his skills. We don't need him to be doing 30 minute stints, let's get behind the big fella and give him some time.

Dunno how we coped without DR a few years back

what you mean when dangerous Dave was in charge and we were getting beat at home by skolars. Yeah bring them days back.

This is getting boring with the dual reg debate. If there in blue and white then there town players. How does anyone know that scholey would be better that greenwood, or Carter better than tierney (especially after carters early season and pre season form). We picked up a good few knocks on Sunday, imagine if we'd played 17 town players and another couple had picked up injuries, we wouldn't have been able to field 17 fit players on Wednesday. It's called squad management. Were the wigan lads worse than the town players yesterday? Certainly not so get a grip.

Still won't create much at home .... Do you see many halves create much with ball in hand on our field ?

darren holt used to, Paul Cooke has done it on frequent occasion, Paul bloody March even manages it, so yeah it's very possible.even the likes of Liam Campbell in a pretty poor town side used to create a lot. Forber just simply does not, wether it's with ball in hand or off kicks. In fact his in play kicking is very average. I know I will get shot down as some on here seem to think your unable to have an opinion or make an argument even though that's exactly what the forum is for. There's one person who's opinion counts and that's vievers but the fact he wanted sammut on a season loan as well as farkas coming seems to think it's an area we need freshening up in. Forber has a large part to play this year and he might thrive under the pressure of competition but something needs to change or the forward battle that we usually win is going to be for nothing as we continue to lose games because we can't turn possession into points

#3087871 DR YES OR NO

Posted by wonky on 12 March 2015 - 10:21 PM

which is quite puzzling how weve gone 70 yrs fielding teams without DR ? But I'm not all against it it needs a proper overhaul and set in stone rules .

well it's not just this year or last we've struggled, remember going to Gateshead and having to play a prop on the wing, as geordie says last year against fev we played a conditioner and had 2 injured players on the bench, and this isn't the only occasions. I'm very thankful for it, yes in an ideal world we would field a strong team everyweek on our own but it's simply not possible on our financial footing. We could probably get a squad of 28-30 but they wouldn't be of the quality of the 24 we have signed on now. Do you think wed have the 2 Aussies if we had to pay another 6 players wages on top of what we are doing. And even then players would still be unhappy about missing out, wether it's to a town player or a wigan player no one wants to be sidelined

Why do you call him Rocky Hampshire?

thats what they call him on sky for some reason. I actually thought that was his real name for months.
