#2978553 game day change

I think most are missing the point. Our lads are semi pro and all have other jobs to do. Some shift patterns would make them unavailable for Fridays, some would work 12 hour shifts until 6 o clock, then would be expected to lace a pair of boots up an hour later. What about lads from away, how could we expect them to go to work then travel 2-3 hours to get here in time for kick off. It's not going to happen, if people really want to watch town then they'll make time on a Sunday like we all do.

#2974260 Whitehaven on Sunday - the big relegation 6 pointer

Posted by wonky on 09 August 2014 - 02:55 PM

Batley will be the most supported side on Sunday, town, keighley,Sheffield and if they've got any sense Dewsbury fans will be begging for a bulldogs win. Good luck and stop the whinging sods getting a bp.

But homeandawayer there a bunch of mentals. So you just have to humour them. They can debate it with the Hemel fans next year.

#2971610 TOWN BEAT HAVEN

Posted by wonky on 05 August 2014 - 06:53 AM

yes we aren't safe yet. I think us at home to barrow and them at eagles on sunday week could be significant and hey barrow can't be taken lightly

if we get a point on Sunday, then us beating barrow and them not getting anything at sheff would make us mathematically safe.

Lovely quote by woodsy in star ...' We were s**t ' .

he fits right in at haven dosent he (and not just because he wears a tent as a t shirt), so biased it's untrue, they have 1 blatant forward pass ruled out, we have a tierney try ruled out and there's no way the lino or ref could see either way and they have another Calvert forward pass try given. It might be just me but if you look at it that way we were more hard done by the ref.

Did he really say that, the stupid fat mess.

to be fair there was loads of rubbish on the pitch, there was Gregg's wrappers, 7 happy meal boxes, 3 pizza boxes and half a kebab. All which fell out of woods pockets when he was rummaging for change for the vending machine.

Got to disagree Scott, Murphy has probably been the best full back in the league defensively. And has been outstanding this term. He has earned the right to be our number 1 and in these games we need reliability, and there's none more so than jack. Just opinions though.

#2969037 Points Deduction?

Posted by wonky on 01 August 2014 - 07:43 AM

you're lots used it that much this year all wigans young players will probably be qualified to play for you yet a side badly hit by injury uses it when they really need it and now looks like they've accidentally not read the rule book right on this .. Rams have only used just used 1 dual reg all season, Sam wood from bulls in just the last few week of the season due to injuries, and have documents from the bulls regarding woods salary, which states it's below 20k. Our chairman believes we've done it all by the book so I expect us to be fine. Either way it shows how much of a joke dual reg is! Wish we'd never used it.. Hope we all get rid of it next season

we have 4 players qualified to continue playing for us, Murphy who's played all but 1 game this year, tierney,Burke and young Farrell. Hardly over using is it, we've had the odd big name like dudson (who I would rather use a traffic cone, which would have more heart) but it's been very rare, we've mainly got under 21s, the way it should be to develop young talent, rather than getting big names match fit. I by no means agree with it, and I'm sure after vievers has had a pre season with us well have our own squad capable of getting in that top 4 as we're not far away this year with a skeleton squad.

I think if we can stop that big long haired prop from dominating the pack then we should be fine. Personally think he's one of the best forwards I've seen against us this season. I would also be putting mossop opposite Jessie joe, let him line him up for a few of his huge hits.

#2968494 Points Deduction?

Posted by wonky on 31 July 2014 - 11:04 AM

Points shouldn't be awarded to Sheffield or the game replayed

just a deduction to batley? Let's be honest it's the RFL they could do anything couldn't they.

#2959467 Who will be the unlucky 10th?

Posted by wonky on 15 July 2014 - 01:50 PM

Surely the winners of champ 1 should play off against the 10th placed team in our league.

#2959396 Lewis Tierney

Posted by wonky on 15 July 2014 - 11:40 AM

Yeah apart from those 2 moments he was dreadful, dropped everything, couldn't tackle, kept throwing passes into touch. Nowhere near ready for super league this week, in fact I would leave him up here for the rest of the season just to make sure.

#2955964 Back in the mire!

Posted by wonky on 07 July 2014 - 01:57 PM

I think yesterday showed 2 very well organised, well coached teams. As you guys have said were probably the in form team as of late and if we'd had vievers in for pre season we'd be comfortably safe this year. You deserved your bonus point and battled to the very end. Hope you stay up as I like kear as a coach. Good luck for the rest of the year and let's all hope we get to see each other next season.
