#2959467 Who will be the unlucky 10th?

Posted by wonky on 15 July 2014 - 01:50 PM

Surely the winners of champ 1 should play off against the 10th placed team in our league.

#2959396 Lewis Tierney

Posted by wonky on 15 July 2014 - 11:40 AM

Yeah apart from those 2 moments he was dreadful, dropped everything, couldn't tackle, kept throwing passes into touch. Nowhere near ready for super league this week, in fact I would leave him up here for the rest of the season just to make sure.

I think yesterday showed 2 very well organised, well coached teams. As you guys have said were probably the in form team as of late and if we'd had vievers in for pre season we'd be comfortably safe this year. You deserved your bonus point and battled to the very end. Hope you stay up as I like kear as a coach. Good luck for the rest of the year and let's all hope we get to see each other next season.

32-0 this has been coming

#2944796 Halifax away!

Don't forget it's 3 points for a win or is the goal a bonus point. Under the old rules we would be 4th and you would be .... well you work it out not bottom but...best of luck though as we need Fax to lose so that we can close up on them.

nothing like talking s***e is there. Who cares what would happen under the old rules, we don't play under them anymore. Haven will go pop again in the very near future so you can crawl back under your stone for another couple of years.

Just seen in the star the retraction of the offer - it just sums up our season . We can't buy a break this year on or off the field . Shame that . Hope that wasn't our one n only chance of seeing him here .Just noticed that Connor is out with a groin - wonder when he did that ? Indeed Al , and even that 19 is diminishing . And that's without the number who are ready championship players in that 19 ... Karl Harrison is looking to bring back Scott Murrell and Ben Kaye !!!

connors can't have been from making a break, or running the ball in that's for sure.

#2942605 Annual Bonus Points debate

Is it fair to say that over the 5 year period Keith speaks about we have been short of that one player that can make a tight but lost game into a won game. We've had loads of good grafters and 100%ers but with the addition of someone like Paul Cooke or Clayton Friend or Tane Manihera how many of those 1 pointers would have been 3. I think the evidence speaks for it's self. If we survive this season as we hope it's got to be time to chuck a whole load of eggs in one basket and pay what has to be paid to bring in that special player.

we had one a couple of year back, Darren holt. Was as good if not better than all 3 mentioned. What we would give for a 30, well maybe 35 year old holty.

#2941240 Team

Cowards there . I've got coward Matty shacks Farrell Brett Mcavoy.

ah right. We must have the smallest squad in the league but the most unsettled side around.

Well believe it when we have a new face on the pitch

#2933576 Town v North Wales

If anyone doubts why I've banged on about getting young ryan Hampshire up here needs look no further than tonight's game. The kid is an outstanding talent.

Anything yet on what we will have , or is it just murphy again you reckon ?

think it will depend on who's 18th and 19th man tonight. Murphy will be a definite, unless we can get an outside back im not sure I would be taking anyone else. We all had worries of our pack but were punching well above our weight there and no ones bullying us as I thought they would. I think what we lack in size we make up in heart and fitness. Shacks in particular has been outstanding this year.

#2931751 Fev 32 worky 20

Posted by wonky on 18 May 2014 - 08:58 PM

Well played Workington...had us rocking for a while; Best WORKINGTON side at Fev in years;

many think we have a worse squad than last year but with vievers in charge he's getting everything out of our very small squad. And we seem a better unit with only 1 or 2 Wigan players rather than the likes of dudson and Hughes who don't give a ###### about town. See you in a couple of months at sunny derwent park.

I'm sorry, but however biased a town fan you are, Brett Seymour is a very good signing and one we would have loved to make. Everyone deserves a chance and that's what havens given him. If he repays that faith on the field then it gives them a good chance of survival.

#2915423 Sheffield game!

@WorkingtonTown: @WiganWarriorsRL dual reg signings Jack Murphy, Connor Farrell, Lewis Tierney & Anthony Gelling all go in to the Town squad for tomorrow

cheers Scott. Pleased to see gelling come up, hope he gets some decent ball to work with. I think we're putting a lot on forbers shoulders tomorrow as he is our only recognised half so should be the commander and chief, hopefully this will push him forward and give him a new lease of life.

Also with the two games over Easter I think well struggle to get anyone other than the likes of tierney and Murphy up for the haven game. Although I think that might be a good thing as the local lads always perform to a top level against them.
