They could be doing some things better but engaging the community game, doing stuff with schools, maintaining/improving season ticket numbers, boosting the women's team, and reaching out to Anzacs is not a bad off season at all compared to recent years. All whilst assembling a very good squad.

I think you're right here. Without the original football leaders tolerating (allowing is a bit much) and then being overwhelmed by professionalism then I don't see how the genuine global spread of soccer happens so easily and so quickly.
