Angelic Cynic
...For The Eagles With 4 home games coming up,at Bawtry Road. The first, this Friday with a 7.45pm k.o. will be with London Broncos providing the opposition. Hendo returns with his players second in the table and having the best defensive record, thus far,in the Championship, only conceding 115 points. I won't mention the Eagles defence but we are the 3rd highest points scorers,so an interesting battle ahead. Friday 29th April,19.45hrs k.o. when Dewsbury Rams provide the opposition. 7th/8th May is LCC weekend. Saturday 14th May - 1500 hrs k.o. Workington Town provide the opposition. Friday 20th May.19.45hrs k.o. - Bradford Bulls are the opposition. Saturday 28th May - 14.30 hrs k.o. - Bloomfield Road.Blackpool - London Broncos provide the opposition. These games, once complete, will take us well into the second half of this years Championship campaign and we should,by then, have some idea how well we are progressing. No reserves, but resilience, persistence and determination are omnipotent.
Angelic Cynic
Well, the first game didn't go exactly the way I would have preferred, but perhaps not finishing in the Top 2 and having an extra home game at Bawtry Road is the best possible way forward for all concerned. Let's see how the next home game goes. No reserves, but resilience, persistence and determination are omnipotent.

Blind side johnny
Is Bawtry Rd the same as the University Sports Park? Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

the old nine ole
The Sheffield website says there is no parking at the ground ...... could some friendly local please advise where is the best place to park?
Angelic Cynic
I am not friendly and I am not local but I shall try and assist. There is no parking inside the complex, although you will see the area filled with vehicles. Several cars are left outside the complex on the main Bawtry Road, despite there being bends at either side of the arena and hatched markings in the centre of the road. There is a little off road parking to the left of the front entrance should you arrive early enough. There is a housing estate - opposite - which is also used. Beyond the arena - and further from the motorway - is a dark alley, used as a meeting place for taxi-drivers,adjacent to The Fairings public house. There hasn't been any complaints, thus far, about lack of car parking space and with the expected attendance tonight I don't think that will change. Good luck with the parking.Enjoy the game. Angelic Cynic
I reckon our last home game before the Summer Bash may attract a large number of away supporters, particularly if Bradford defeat Swinton at home next weekend. The appointment announced tonight of Rohan Smith being the new head coach usually results in a 'bounce' for players and supporters. By my reckoning Bradford have appointed the second youngest head coach in The Championship, with only James Coyle at Whitehaven being under 35yrs of age. We were knocked out of the LCC by a side on a new head coach 'bounce',and Wakefield remain unbeaten.Hopefully,we can defeat Bradford before the new head coach establishes his best 17. It's certainly warming up... ** I have just learned that there is the little matter of a visa - the new head coach may take at least a fortnight to arrive.Still expect the best attendance of the campaign at Bawtry Road.I think the earth may move when we win that night.** No reserves, but resilience, persistence and determination are omnipotent. DemonUK
I'd say cooling down rather than warming up. Here we go again .....
Angelic Cynic
I'd say cooling down rather than warming up. Nah.Lot of blood boiling - very warming. Still, nice line in banter.I didn't think our little club would attract the attention of Leigh followers. You can't be worried about our second-half revival,or defeating Leigh at Bawtry Road, can you? We are warming up for Bradford,though... No reserves, but resilience, persistence and determination are omnipotent.

Angelic Cynic
After a quartet of the games mentioned in the op have now been played, the return of London Broncos as opponents in Blackpool is the next and final game from those mentioned. It was only in April that the best side we have faced this year posted 56 points against us at Bawtry Road. Newly appointed Eagles skipper Steve Thorpe will miss the game through injury. One of the main protagonists for London,in April,William Barthau, will also miss the game. Will the Eagles, before the tv cameras, put in a more cohesive performance than the last display? The first 40 minutes against Bradford Bulls suggests better times may be ahead. London Broncos though, scored 62 points against Whitehaven at the weekend;a side who defeated The Eagles at Bawtry Road, back in March. No side,as yet, this year, have done the 'double' over Sheffield Eagles. Can it be prevented this Saturday? No reserves, but resilience, persistence and determination are omnipotent.
