  1. My reading of the situation is we must beat both Dewsbury and York to make the playoffs Unless Widnes lose to both Toulouse and Barrow. A York v Fev shoot-out looks likely.
  2. I'm pretty sure that this is the first time in 2024 that the entire squad has been available for selection. Jeffery and Harris miss out. Theoretically no-one injured or suspended. Let's see which four players don't get selected.
  3. So, this is the very definition of a must-win game for Rovers. Two terrible performances I don't even want to think about ever again, but we're still in the mix. Bottom club Dewsbury at home. They've won one match all year and seemed to give up the ghost and accept relegation months ago. So, what could possibly go wrong? On our current form, all sorts obviously. We had a full squad bar Aekins and Lacans last Sunday, and apparently Caleb may be ready again, so lets see what squad (tomorrow) and team (Saturday) we put out. Will anyone be dropped after the Swinton & Sheffield shows? I was going to put a list of the possibilities of who might make the playoffs but SOA has started a good thread on that, so post your mathematical calculations, thoughts and predictions there.
  4. So the 21 man squad is out and it's as we expected. Everyone bar Aekins and Lacans and no DR. Most people would have Harris, Jeffery and Kibula not in the 17 based on Ford's previous selections, but which other forward will miss out? Very tough call to make. And when a Aekins is back, there'll be another tough call to make in the backs about who makes way.
  5. Three league matches left, two of them against direct rivals for a playoff spot, and if we want to be sure of making it, we may have to win all three matches. We are coming off an absolute shocker at Swinton, so we'll need to put all memories of that behind us. So, we're running with a 23 man squad at the moment (plus four possible DR players). We know Lacans and Aekins won't make this game. I think I'm right in saying we have nobody suspended for this match, which makes a change. Let's cross our fingers that GG and Reynolds are fit again. If they are fit, the 21 man squad picks itself (assuming we don't call on any DR). From that, I'd assume Harris, Jeffery and Kibula won't make it. I'm not sure who the unlucky 18th man would be. Assuming Gale is fit again, it will be his 100th game for Fev, a great milestone for a popular lad. He's scored 78 tries so far. A few more on Sunday, and we'll be reyt. Up The Rovers
  6. I see where your coming from but that's a harsh-ish judgement. He's not a halfback for mine. We need him at fullback, his best position. One of his family died in Australia mid season and he had to go home. That must have affected him.
  7. We currently have a 23 man squad. Signed for 2025: Brad Day Jimmy Beckett Connor Jones Gadwin Springer Thomas Lacans Danny Addy Greg Minikin Maddox Jeffery Gareth Gale Pending: Caleb Aekins Harry Bowes Greg Eden Jack Bussey Josh Hardcastle Ben Reynolds Wellington Albert Jack Arnold Connor Wynne Charlie Harris James Lockwood Loan to end of 2024: Ben Nakubuwai Samy Kibula Dec Patton

  9. Apologies if posted previously.... https://hunsletrlfc.com/general/img-grading-2024-update/?fbclid=IwY2xjawFNKq5leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHfcz9Ih0KtTioBdTl1ettxxoXmctKvz4sy2A2A7KCwTeA1FoQQfGnukl3Q_aem_L-0uJEZc3bX8Rknw8FfmEw
  10. If Aekins is still injured, we could see the same XVII as last week. Or perhaps take a proper look at Kibula who's had very little game time since arriving.
  11. That aged well, didn't it? And they say a week is a long time in politics. Try Fev Rovers 2024. Massey has retired, no-one knows about Kamano (gone? injured?), Kibula was selected but not used (out of favour?) and Springer might be looking at another suspension. I wonder if Fishwick and Tennison are still on call.
  12. Yes, they were. I would not be the psychotic character I am today without the trauma of the Sorensons, the Tamatis, the Hulmes, the Mylers and the O'Neills. One year we went there, 1987, we were already down, a few shied off and we shipped 62 points. Back in the top flight in 1988 we shipped 58 points. The next year I thought, it can't be worse, but we shipped 59 points with Currier and Offiah with their own little private competition of who could score most. I think they got nine between them.
  13. Ta for that list. I wonder if there is a full list of ex-NRL to SL/UK 2025 list anywhere. I know we have a thread on TRL for the opposite, ex-SL/UK players in the NRL.
