Huddersfield sign Tom Burgess from 2025
Agbrigg replied to Chris22's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
If he isn't ,he will certainly be in the top few highest. However seems strange to spend a large amount on someone who will not be on the pitch much more than 40 mins per game. It's obviously down to Huddersfield ,but in my view Marquee should be real match winners and that is usually backs and pivots. -
Challenge Cup: Third Round Draw
Agbrigg replied to Futtocks's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
I see Siddal are insisting on playing at home against Wakey. The RFL have stated the ground doesn't meet minimum requirements but still allowing this. If minimum requirements can be ignored what is the point in having them. The tin pot mentality of the RFL never ceases to amaze me. -
Going on the WMDC planning portal, all there in full detail

As a wakey fan, our two games either side of Newcastle, with all due respect, very weak teams, is the last thing i wanted -
Trinity owner has big plans
Agbrigg replied to Martyn Sadler's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
No behind those glass doors in the centre is a large restaurant (250 seats ? ) plus the corporste stuff will still be going in the 'flats' . I know they get some stick , but believe me the facilities inside are good and the viewing and match day experience is also good. I realise some of the citiscm is made in jest, but its undeserved in my opinion. -
If you can lay championship bets in the same way as an horse race the obvious bet is a double , Wakey to win and your chosen team (Bradford ,or whoever) to come second

Well if you are comparing Wakey to Huddersfield ,yes you are 100% correct on both points -
Yes it was right to abandon the game. The floodlights have been in a full season now without previous problems, it seemed they kept tripping out. I am sure it will get sorted quickly. I thought Wakey looked sharp and fit . I know Wigan had a lot of fringe players but their pack was mostly first teamers and they way Wakey matched them up was the high light for me.

Odsal - RFL Selling the lease
Agbrigg replied to Whippet13's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Just wondering if anyone has heard any updates about interested parties in the purchase of the Odsal hole -
Unbelievable this to me.

As a fellow Wakey fan I understand your point. However squad wise we are now in the championship and Powell has to pick up the car crash left by Carters recruitment. Anything that helps our return to SL in the short term I am happy with. Lets see where the club are in 3 or 4 seasons . Its my belief there will be a huge investment in developing youth once we are established in SL -

Thats a fair and valid point. Unfortunately Fifita only came for half a season and whitbread and taginoa hardly played much rugby. Correct me if I am wrong but i dont think we ever played a game with all three available I still think fridays squad would have beaten most of the actual squads we put out last season. Plus i am confident that this seasons team will be fitter and better prepared tactically. I also have a strong feeling that as the season progresses, further quality could be added to the squad. After all these years of hope , i now feel Trinity will soon be one of the top clubs again. -

I think the squad we have already assembled this season is superior to the one we had in SL last season. No dross like lineham ,gaskell , proctor etc -

The club have left the end section of the main stand soley for away supporters and a large part of the adjacent section has also been blocked out, i suspect this may be used too. Could be a few hundred seats available and this should cater for the vast majority of away support to BV this season. -
Televised games next season - has it been sorted yet?
Agbrigg replied to Yorky's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Looks like there will be three games live transmitted simultaneously on Friday nights. As a neutral i will choose the one where O'Connor is not droning on with his usual garbage -

' LANDMARK ! , well i suppose a blot on the landscape potentially fits the category of a landmark -
Yes this rule change has been a good move. It more about attitude than money to me. Young players with their careers infront of them are much better than people with their careers over and looking for one last pay day.
-
It certainly is !!!!! Great to see we are signing young players with their careers infront of them as opposed to has beens like Proctor

when I started watching this game rucks was a term that was never used. However I first heard it when Sky started to get coverage of the game. Like has been mentioned I'm sure it's an Aussie term that has crept in. Stevo liked to aussify the game and another one he introduced was sheds

Well, there is a feel good factor at Wakey at the moment so I am sure we will bring up a good following for your first home game in The 1895 cup. Let's up its a good start financially for your season.
