  1. Read somewhere that the Hunslet one is reversible with home on one side and away the other. £60. Great idea and takes up less space in your wardrobe if you decide to keep them for years.
  2. Seen a 3-2, Dewsbury beating Hull KR with 12 men circa 1990. It was a thriller, too.
  3. Love the Boxing Day Heavy Woollen Derby – the true meaning of Christmas. Getting up with a hangover, drinking keg Tetleys at 11am and the smell of cheap after shave in the air. Trying to work out who all out new signings are while they're caked head to toe in mud. Magic. For Dewsbury and Batley it's usually the biggest money-spinner of the season - crowds of 2,000 or 3,000 (announced as half that, natch) which are much bigger than we get for the actual league fixtures. Just a pity we usually lose them..
  4. On the subject of League One, a worthwhile cause for a club that has done more for rugby league than many professional sides in the heartlands over the last 28 years. They've always been good to Dewsbury too (free tickets for our fans this season). https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/skolarsrl?utm_term=RV58ByYGP
  5. Yes it's a young Nathan Graham. I think Dennis Bailey does as well when we played them a few years later (1994 I think).
  6. The 12-12 draw at Saints is a terrific cup tie. We really should have won it. Forgot how good players like John Carroll, Gary Moore and Paul Jennings were. Maurice Bamford had a good side put together at that point.
  7. Is the game definitely on Sky Sports red button? I know rugbyleagueontv says so but can't find any confirmation of this on the Sky site.
  8. Is Kangaroos v Kiwis on Sky Sports this Saturday? Can't see it on their website schedules. Was hoping to find a pub in Huddersfield showing it.
  9. Got tickets for all three matches - no complaints about ticket prices. Looking forward to them and hoping they'll be exciting matches. Whatever we think to the logisitics I think it's up to us as RL fans to do our bit for the sport at the moment, it's wobbling and needs us more than ever. Especially if you're a fan in the heartlands.
  10. Tonight's shock result with London beating Fev means we should have a few money-spinning derbies next year: Wakey, Fev, B*tley, Bradford and Fax. And one less long-distance trip to London or Toulouse. A good result for the club coffers – Barrow, Widnes, Donny and the like might a bring a few too. Just need confirmation of what the format is going to be now. Come on RFL, pull your finger out.
  11. Oui, very much so. Not heard of Willis before but he had a great game and seems to have formed an understanding with Kuni Minga as he set up a couple of tries with his boot. Would love to see him at Dewsbury. Where has Willis played previously? Also enjoyed watching Mitch Garbutt play - I thought he had just been coaching. Great day all round in balmy St Gaudens. Bought a shirt and was welcomed by the club staff.
  12. Remember Bramley turning Dewsbury over in a cracking 1990 Regal Trophy tie. We were on fire in the first half and leading comfortably and Bramley came back strongly at the end. I was 14 at the time and utterly gutted. Always a tough team to beat. See also: Carlisle.
  13. Merci for that. Do you know if there is anywhere showing the NRL Grand Final?
  14. Am in Biarritz this weekend and thinking of travelling over to St Gaudens for their match on Sunday. Thinking to stay over Saturday night. Anyone know if there is much to do in the town? And is there a high likelihood of the match being on?
  15. Sooner the better. It feels like a lot of momentum from winning League One has already been lost, when we could be securing players for next season and stealing a march on our rivals.
  16. Seems a slightly strange move this. Dewsbury top their league, Halifax win at Wembley.. you would think both dressing rooms would be pretty buoyant. Bad time to lose your coach and a lot of goodwill will be lost. We've seen some good players emerge this season and I was looking forward to seeing them develop in the Championship. It feels like Finn is leaving the job half done as he hasn't fully proved his credentials yet. Feel quite flat about this season right now. Hope Finn isn't coaching us against Doncaster. The Championship seems a very daunting place again.
  17. Well done to all at the club, on and off the field. Let's aim to stabilise in the Championship and grow – if our neighbours from across the valley can do it, so can we.
  18. I'd guess 700 to 800, probably 100 from Dewsbury.
  19. Travelled down to the match to support the Rams. Was wearing my Dewsbury shirt in Falmouth and was stopped by some Cornwall fans who gave me a lift up to the ground in Penryn. Cracking club, the game needs many more like them.
  20. Already down here and it's a lovely place but a bit surreal to think I'm going to see a rugby league match in 5 days. Think we should win by 40 points but hoping Cornwall make a game of it for their fans. It would be good to see them do well in the future. Heard the team are staying down on Saturday night so hope they go easy on the scrumpy.
