  1. Delighted for the Leigh contingent on here Fully deserved and great to have a different name in the Final. Hopefully, HKR will make it a final of underdogs, which will be refreshing after the usual Wigan, Saints, Leeds and Wire for the past few years.
  2. Classic banana skin scenario for the Bulls Turn on the style and wallop our close neighbours - only to come a cropper the following week. Hopefully, we'll turn up with the right attitude and get the job done.
  3. Sounded like it was a belter of a game; pity we couldn't watch it. Leigh must be in dreamland at the moment - going away to a table-topping Cats and possibly ending up a tad disappointed not to come away with a win, having led at 65 minutes. It looks like Leigh are going to be a competitive SL team for a good few years to come. Well done to Derek Beaumont for getting them to this point.
  4. Wakefield were dreadful today. They didn't look like scoring even when they had a two-man advantage. I don't think I realised how bad they were until I watched them today. To answer the question, they'll probably win a game or even two at the end of the season when they play teams that have nothing to play for or are resting people for the play-offs. It usually happens that way. But the question of when will they win a game that matters. when they aren't already relegated - probably two or three games into next season when they come up against Doncaster or Oldham or whoever gets promoted from League 1
  5. Give it a rest, Harry We gubbed Keighley with one loan player starting last Sunday. For comparison, Newcastle had three loan players in their squad for their game (two from Hull and one from Wakefield) But, hey, let's not let facts get in the way of the narrative about the Bulls...
  6. You mean "Young" Jack Walker? Yeah, that's him. Been out injured most of the season, as is his way
  7. You are so desperate to make it all about Bradford that you put Bradford into a game they weren't even playing in... Tragic
  8. And there we see the reason why no Bulls engage with threads like this. Petty childishness based on what someone said in 1997.
  9. True enough, but we Bulls fans know more than anyone how far things can fall and how quickly. Trinity will know that next season when they play at Mount Pleasant.
  10. That's not correct I was at Odsal in 1976 when Keighley beat Bradford Northern 3-2 in a dull and boring game
  11. This looks like great news for Oldham. I'm old enough to remember when Oldham was a real hotbed for RL and had a team to be reckoned with as well. Hopefully, they can get promoted this year, move (back) to their new stadium and make a real push from 2024 onwards.
  12. https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/amazon-apple-super-league-broadcast-26462734?utm_source=leeds_live_newsletter&utm_campaign=rugby_league_lve_newsletter&utm_medium=email&pure360.trackingid={~TrackingId~} It's good to see SL being proactive in this. I still think Sky are in the box seat, but a cashed-up entity like Amazon might push up the price! What would we feel about maybe a couple of rounds being sold to Amazon to show each game as they do with the Premiership? I'd be happy to see that.
  13. Is that an exact quote? I've seen better grammar and spelling from a 6-year-old.
  14. It wasn't the highest quality game I've ever seen, but it was excellent Sunday afternoon entertainment. As someone said, it really throws open the 1895 Cup and someone a chance of glory. Come on you Bulls
  15. It comes down to the money, doesn’t it? There is no historical or demographic reason why Leigh should be able to support a SL team whilst Oldham languish in League 1 The only real difference is that Leigh do have someone who (in the words of a prior poster) “has more money than sense”
  16. I don't think you'll find many Bulls fans agreeing with those rankings. Yes, we've signed a few good players (so have other teams) but the squad is light at prop and in the backs. There are only two senior wingers in the squad, for example. We're a couple of injuries away from relying on DR or playing completely unproven Academy players. Top six would be a major achievmeent after last year.
  17. Back on topic, I'm not in the least bit surprised in this news. After all, Bradford South has a Labour MP. If we had a Tory MP like Richmond, then the cash would flow in like a torrent. In unrelated news, my town - which happens to have Simon "Nurses need to budget" Clarke as our MP - got £15 million to regenerate the high street. Utterly corrupt system. The question now is what next for Odsal and the Bulls? I think there is somewhere between zero and wafer-thin chance of ANY investment into the current stadium site. Unfortunately, it looks like there isn't a viable alternative in the City. Valley Parade - pitch too small, stadium too big, too expensive Horsfall - too expensive to develop, parking issues, resident opposition New stadium on new site - no chance, no money
  18. Dewsbury 16 Bulls 34 The Bulls were well in command throughout - two late tries from Dewsbury after the Bulls brought on the Academy team made it look closer than it was
  19. It's a shame to see Whitehaven on the brink of oblivion. When I was growing up and getting into RL, they were a powerhouse - Workington as well. Those rugged Cumbrian teams could always be relied on to give you a helluva game. Now it appears that their natural level is top end of League One or bottom few in the Championship. It's hard to see how they are ever going to progress beyond. Are Workington and Whitehaven fans happy to survive in that zone? It seems they'd settle for that - or even less- rather than even think about merging. It also seems an oddity that the better NCL clubs are stronger in many ways than the semi-pro clubs. Is there any prospect of better relationships and synergy between the amateur game and semi-pro? It looks (again, from afar) that the ONLY way forward is for those clubs to work more closely with Worky and Haven.
  20. Same here. Looking forward to digging into it this afternoons - it looks really interesting
  21. Flanangan Jr is a risk for Huddersfield. He made his debut against London and scored a try, but he had a mare against Barrow the following week and was promptly dropped. He played once more before the end of the season - and that's the sum total of his Championship experience. I'm not saying he won't develop into a world beater - but it's a gamble on someone who did quite well in our Academy. We'll know better if he plays more games for us this season, which he won't unless Jack Walker gets injured (which, to be fair, isn't exactly unlikely)
